SOURCE: stuck in 'set 1'

Had this same problem and found the solution elsewhere on the net. Hold down the "1" button and the "Enter" button for aprox 10 seconds while pointing at the player. This "resets" the remote. I was skeptical when I first read this solution but it worked for me!

How to get my sony dvd DVP-C670D out of standby mode without a remote?

  1. Power button: Locate the power button on the front or side of the DVD player. Press and hold the button for a few seconds until the device turns on.
  2. Power outlet: Unplug the DVD player from the power outlet and then plug it back in. This should turn the device on.
  3. Power strip: If the DVD player is plugged into a power strip, turn off the power strip and then turn it back on. This should turn the device on.
  4. Manual: Consult the manual of your DVD player if you have one, it may have a way to get the device out of standby mode.
  5. Using the buttons of the DVD player: Some DVD players have a button on the front or back of the device that can be used to turn it on and off. If the device has a button, try pressing it to turn it on.
It's worth noting that these methods may vary depending on the specific model of your Sony DVP-C670D DVD player. If none of these methods work, you may need to purchase a replacement remote control or consult a professional for assistance.

I have a LG DP132H-NU AUSALLA DVD/CD Player July 2022. HOW DO I CHANGE REGION CODE?

To change the region code on your LG DP132H-NU DVD/CD player, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Turn off the DVD/CD player and unplug it from the power outlet.
  2. Press and hold the "Stop" button on the player.
  3. While still holding the "Stop" button, plug the player back in and turn it on.
  4. When the player powers on, the region code will be displayed on the screen.
  5. Use the "Up" or "Down" arrow buttons on the player to select the desired region code.
  6. Press the "Enter" button to confirm the new region code.
  7. Turn off the DVD/CD player and unplug it again.
  8. Plug the player back in and turn it on. The new region code should now be in effect.
Keep in mind that most DVD/CD players are only designed to play DVDs and CDs that are encoded for the region in which they were purchased. If you try to play a DVD or CD that is encoded for a different region, it may not work properly or may not work at all.

Lg dp132h change the region code

Press setup on your remote and choose the lock symbol. Then go to area code and right click arrow on remote. Password should come up and put 0000 press ok. You will then be able to change the region for example Great Britain is GB. I've yet to test this out due the fact I don't have a corresponding DVD but if it works for you post your results. I'd love to be able to buy my favorite sci-fi shows no longer in US print.

I have a remote control with one bad button that doesn't work. The product is rare. Is there a way to use another device to send the codes to a portable dvd player

Lost your Remote? Need help programming your GE Universal Remote? Most TV's, VCR's, DVD Player's, Cable and Satellite Boxes will work with a GE universal remote. There is still a chance that your component will not be compatible with the remote. For a list of the codes scroll down to resources and click on the link that applies to you. Follow these steps and we will hopefully get your remote working like new
instructions on how to use it:

  • 1 Manually turn the device on you want to program.
  • 2 Press and hold setup until the light stays on, then release the button.
  • 3. Press the button on the remote of the device you want to program. (EXAMPLE: TV, VCR, DVD, CBL/SAT)
  • 4 Enter the 3 digit code from the list for the device you want programmed. (Some devices might have more then one 3 digit code. Start with the first code) After you enter a code the light will turn off. (For a list of codes scroll down to resources and click on the link that applies to you.)
  • 5 Aim your remote at the device and hit power, your device should turn off. (If the device doesn't turn off start over and move on to the next 3 digit code.) Turn you device back on with the remote and try your volume and channel buttons just to verify everything is working properly.
  • 6 If none of the codes worked for you continue with the next step.
  • 7 Manually turn on the device you want to program.
  • 8 Press and hold setup until the light stays on, then release the button.
  • 9 Press the button on the remote of the device you want to program. (EXAMPLE: TV, VCR, DVD, CBL/SAT)
  • 10 Press and release the power button until your device turns off. Wait a couple seconds before each time you press power. (This is going through a code search with your remote, you might have to press the power button up to 250 times.)
  • 11 When your device turns off press enter. The light on the remote should go off.
  • 12 If neither of the steps worked for you then your device is not compatible with that GE Universal Remote.

Hi, I recently purchased a Panasonic DVD S48 dvd player. I was assuming when I bought it that it was a multiregion product. This seems not to be the case as it will not play region 1 dvd's that I...

    hi Pjkgbr.
this is all i could find out, now if you do try this do so at your own risk.

This hack requires the S48 remote plus a universal remote configured for the S48 with a separate 'Pause' button (or another Panasonic DVD remote with a separate 'Pause' button may work).

I used a cheap universal remote.

    1. Select DVD device on remote.

    2. Hold magic button until the DVD button blinks twice.

    3. Enter device code 0490 (DVD button blinks twice)

Neither the 'Play/Pause' nor 'Frame' buttons on the S48 remote work for this hack.

    1. Power on.

    2. Open tray.

    3. Using the S48 remote press Audio, 1, 9, 8, 2, Subtitle

    4. Using the other remote (URC 7562) press Pause.

    5. Using the S48 remote press 0.

The DVD front panel should now show the text "on".

The DVD should now be region-free. Region code hack posted by spook65, December 12 2012:

    DVD-S48EG-K (Region 2)

This is the process for unlocking, the Panasonic DVD-S48 for
    multi-zone.

Please note, you will need a universal remote control which
has a PAUSE button in order to unlock this player.

    1. Turn the power ON
    2. Open the disc tray
    3. Using the remotes, press AUDIO 1 9 8 2 SUBTITLE PAUSE 0
    4. Switch the player to STANDBY and then switch ON again.

The display should read ON after you enter PAUSE 0.
If this doesn't happen, switch the player off and start the
    sequence again.

The remote supplied with Panasonic player has a PLAY/PAUSE
button rather than a separate PAUSE button. If you use the
PLAY/PAUSE button, the tray will close and the unlock
    sequence will be aborted.

To get round this, you need a universal remote set-up to use
with the DVD player. After pressing SUBTITLE on the
Panasonic remote, quickly press the PAUSE button on the
universal remote, then press 0 on the Panasonic remote to
    complete to unlock code entry.

    or this one.
What is the process for Multizoning a DVD-S38 / DVD-S48 / DVD-S58 / DVD-S68 / DVD-S500 / DVD-S700 DVD Player? Providing your DVD Player is one of the below models, you can multizone the unit yourself using the remote supplied with the product and another Panasonic product remote thas a Pause button on it

    Applicable Models:
    DVD-S38 / DVD-S48 / DVD-S58 / DVD-S68 / DVD-S500 / DVD-S700

    Multizoning Process:
    1. Power on the unit and open the disc tray
    2. Using the remote that came with the player, press the following buttons in sequence
    3. AUDIO 1 9 8 2
    4. SUBTITLE
    5. Using the other Panasonic Remote (not the one that came with the player), press the PAUSE button
    6. On the remote that came with the DVD player, press the 0 (zero) button
    7. If you have followed the above process correctly, the word ON should be shown on the front panel display of the player*1

*1 Please note: The models DVD-S500 and DVD-S700 do not have a front panel display,
so the only way of confirming that the multizoning process has been done correctly, is to
try playing a DVD disc from another region code other than region 4

How to get unit to play without remote

You can probably use the front panel buttons (STOP PLAY OPEN/CLOSE etc) manually, the only thing you cannot do without the remote is access certain DVD menus, including subtitles/language/special features etc. You can always obtain and use a universal remote for basic menu functions later on if necessary.

To play a DVD movie without the remote, simply load your preferred disc, wait for the player to finish reading its contents, then to skip copyright warnings and/or the 'play movie' menu screen, press STOP, then PLAY, or simply press PLAY button where 'play movie' (or whatever function) is highlighted in the menu. These buttons should be on the front of the main unit. Doing this should encourage the player to detect the appropriate title (the movie) and play it (basic playback operation may not be possible with some DVD releases due to the numerous interactive menus and title pages, such as film trailers).

If basic manual operation is not completely possible with some DVD titles, consider a universal remote for your player if you have either lost your original, or the player was purchased/received without one. Such remotes are relatively inexpensive to purchase, and are available just about everywhere.
