All wireless security motions have a 3 min delay built into them. This means that whether the alarm is set or not when the motion detector picks up motion it shuts down for 3 min and will not pick up motion. This is done to conserve battery power. So I always advise customers to arm the system and stay away from the motion for 3 min total. example: 60 sec to arm system + 2min wait time. then try to trigger motion. The motion detector is available new on Ebay right now from an electronics surplus dealer. Just type in 12v motion as your search and at least half a dozen come up. I bought one and it was new in the box with the instructions.

when the switch is turned on and I left the red wire disconnected.
