On LCD screen do you see display on camera mode or its just blanck?
If display is present and camera picture is not seen than the electronic problem is occured in camera, may be dry or loose connection which is common ,in this situation just opening camera and cleaning connectors and assemble back will solve the proble.Or camera DC-DC converter faulty inside.

SOURCE: Mode for playback of older 8mm tapes using Sony DCR-TRV730 ?

In 1990s Sony camcorder records movie in analog format so playing in digital camcorder like DCR-TRV730 doesn't mean it will be converted in digital format and you can not import file in PC for editing purpose. You will get analog signal while playing back old cassettes.

Regarding SP, LP speed, its decided at time of recording. Camera sens SP or LP automatically in playback and set itself accordingly.

If you want to convert old cassettes into digital format, connect our camcorder to DVD recorder and burn DVD which is digital format, copy DVD files in to PC and do desired editing.

Problem with recording/playback

If it plays back a pre-recorded tape OK, then the tape head will be good. If it doesn't you might have problem, with either the head or the pre-amp stage.
However if it is playing back OK but not recording, then you have problem in the record circuit. Some tape decks physically switch the circuit when you press record. Pushing the record button will cause a switch to move position. In some cases dirt or dust can get into the switch and it doesn't connect properly. Switch cleaning fluid will correct the problem.
However the record circuit itself could be faulty. Perhaps an IC has developed a fault on one channel, which will need to be replaced.
Watching what happens when you press record with the top cover off, showing the workings, might point to some movement of the mechanism to reveal a faulty switch.

I own a LG.ADR-620 CD RECORDER, when i record from the in built cd to the cdrw and play back things sound OK, when i record from a external source to the cdrw and then play back i get interference only on...

When you record from an external source, the data transfer may be too slow to produce quality recordings. If you're able to download the external source first, then burn it to disk, it should produce good quality recordings.

Kenwood MD plays ok but recordings fail to play; U TOC error?

Without a decent Table Of Contents, your MiniDisc will NOT work, as you've found out. Does it matter what brand of MD you use? I would record it at "1X" and NOT 4x speed too. Try erasing a blank minidisc first and then shut off the unit and then turn it back on and see if the TOC works. Try adding a title, then turn it off and back on. Then try the CD to MD.

Olympus DS30 voice recorder play speed issue

Hi, the solution to the problem seems to be the following. When u press play, once, you get 1x play. If whilst playing you press play a second time the DS-30 goes into slow play mode, and if you press a second time it goes into fast mode. For those of us who accidentally went into either fast or slow mode, just press the play button again, during playback, until "play" appears on the LCD screen. Apparently it is as simple as that.

Recordes but dont play back

before you can watch a recorded DVD on another DVD player you must finalize the disc. to finalize the disc put the recorded disc into the DVD recorder, when the DVD loads it will show the titles that are recorded on the DVD on the screen
push the stop button it is the button with the square on it. the screen will go blank or it may let you watch whatever tv channel you are on if you have your tv ran through the recorder, push the setup buton a new screen will come up, with the arrow down button scroll down and highlight disc edit, press ok another screen will come up, with the arrow down button scroll down and highlight "finalize", press "ok" it is the button in the middle of the arrow keys
scroll up and highlight "yes" press "ok" the recorder will finalize the disc and it can be watched on any DVD player, just remember when you finalize a disc you cannot add anything else to the disc.

2. Press the MENU button. Playback Menu 1 is displayed.
3. Select Sound Memo by using the u d buttons, then press the r button.
4. Press the OK button and then start recording.
5. When you are finished recording, press the OK button. You can play or delete the sound memo or record
a new memo.
6. Press the MENU button twice to exit the menu.
