I had the same thing happen. I got the tank out, but it wasn't easy. Take out the bolts out that hold the rear end on. Take off the two springs that support the seat. Take out the battery and the battery tray. Take out the 6 bolts that hold the black cowling and the front of the green platform to the frame. This will allow you to lift the seat platform far enough off the rear end to allow the tank to be pulled out through the side. You also have to remove the metal bracket which holds the front of the tank and has caused the tank to leak in the first place. New tank is $56.00 not installed. I used a soldering gun and melted the plastic back together. I think it will hold quit a while. I know this is a little sketchy, but It worked for me.

SOURCE: JOHN DEERE LAWN TRACTOR 145 SERIES, RUNS OK

When you start to have this problem loosen the fuel cap and see if that makes any differance, there is a small vent hole in the cap that can get plugged. When it gets plugged your fuel tank will develop a vaccum and cause you engine to starve for fuel.Im not sure on this model but the older 100 series had a problem with the fuel line being pinched between the frame and the tank.

SOURCE: what special tools to use to remove the starter of

I took one off yesterday, (the type with two bolts) and managed to get it off with just ordinary spanners. I had to take all the bolts out of the bonnet and side panels, and lift it up about 12" to get a spanner at the bottom bolt! Its awkward, but it can be done!

John deere riding mower wont turn over unless plug is out

IF you have to remove the spark plug to get the engine to crank, check to see when the motor is in the compression stroke and go just past that point and try again to see if the motor cranks with the spark plug back in. 3 of 4 piston motions are not related to compression. If it does not move then the starter does not have enough torque.

John deer L110 17 1/2 Kohler engine fires but doesn't start, it just pops like a gun shot

given the info available , it sounds like either a hole in the piston or a burnt/stuck valve. the popping sound could be a backfire, from improper detonation of fuel ,a simple compression test will tell if this is in fact the problem.

All hidraulics funtions are dead, no hydraulic power in machine.

first thing I would do is test the pump itself even if no wear is found you could have a GPM loss.
So you need to do a flow test on it to find otu how much the loss is and check it to the specs of that hydrolic pump first.
