I have a Miller 130xp set up for .035 wire. I want to go to the .023 wire. My drive wheel(?) is stamped .030-.035. What is it's real name, will my drive work on .023 wire and if not where can I get it? What else do I need to change? Thanks, Jim

It's called the fire feed wheel. They sometimes come in sets but, running .035, you probably have one grooved and one flat. Any welding supply that handles Miller welders should have them or be able to get them.

You will also want to change your tip. Running .023 wire in a .035 tip will cause your wire to twist and jump around. If extreme control isn't an issue, it doesn't matter. I was a master weldor for 26 years and I was able to accomodate is almost every situation but, if you are doing to be welding thin sheet metal with a low tolerance for warpage, you'll want the smaller tips. It will make cleanup a lot easier too.

I have a Miller Shopmaster power source attached to a Miller model 22A wire welder. The problem is when the heat is set above 150 the wire feed pulsates and will not maintain a constant wire feed. Do you...

Check to make sure wire feed brake is not set too tight and that all cables and gun are clean. Also check wire feed wheels are clean and in good shape

My wire feed welder seems to burn back to the tip very regularly....can I clean the sleve with anything? Would a drive wheel being too tight be a possible problem?

you can either turn amps down or turn wire speed up,make sure drive wheels are set for the size of wire you are using, one side is set for example .023 flip it over the otyher side will show .030.
