Question about Denon Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

My Denon avr 1709 was working perfectly. Then I muted it and then there was no more sound coming out of the speakers and I can’t get the system set up to show up any more. What do you think is wrong?

SOURCE: Denon AVR 2807 with Bose Acoustimass 15

Well,i can tell you are not very focus, cause you posted Denon AVR-2807 with Bose AC 15 problem, but under your details, you put down AVR-5807!
First of all,it is so unfortunate that you are NOT able to gain and experience to true ability in sound for this wonderful receiver when you are using a dual tweeters speakers and expect to have good sound separation as a TWO WAY speakers(a tweeter and a midrange-for true high frequency and mid frequency sound separation.)
Secondly, you have defeated the audio configuration of the Denon AVR-2807,since all your speakers are control BY the Bose subwoofer.
Now,i could show you a way to hook this up,and it doesn't matter how you connect them, they are the "bicycle tires" installed with a "Porche"engine if you know what i mean.
If you want a good recommendation for your "beast",i will more than happy to show you the way!

SOURCE: Denon AVR-3805 zone 2 no longer working

If no sound coming through Zone 2, steps that worked are below. Layout: Denon AVR-988 running in 5.1 mode with patio speakers designated as Zone 2: 1) check that patio speaker wires are connected to Denon's back surround speaker terminals, 2) check "Menu then "Manual Setup" and scroll to check that "Amp Assign function is set to "Zone 2". You won't get Zone 2 sound unless this is chosen in this instance. Also check the volume settings in the "Manual Setup" to ensure you haven't turned sound down by -40 DB or limited it. Now try turing on Zone 2 sound either on front panel or on rear of remote. If you still have no sound, what worked for me is there's a Zone 2/Rec Out pushbutton on front left top panel by round input knob. This must be set to "Zone 2 Source" and not "Rec Out Source".to avoid diverting the signal to the Rec Out jacks. Keep turning the input select button until it reads "Zone 2 Source". Then turn on and this should route the signal to your Zone 2 speakers. srhfish

SOURCE: No audio running TV through Denon AVR 1910

I had the same problem. You're not doing anything wrong. the thing is you can't (I don't know why but the owner manual says it) have sound going to your tv AND your HT speakers when you're using HDMI. You should try going to input setup, choose hdmi audio out to your TV instead of the speakers, and then run an optical cable from your satellite to your receiver, assigning it to the TV/Cable input.

zone 2 volume can be adjusted by zone2 remote control (small one which came with the unit) or by main remote control if you switch it to zone2 mode. My main rem control has a slide switch i have to put in zone 2 position to operate zone 2 amp.

DENON 1709: The sound is OK when STEREO is setting. Using 5.1 STEREO or MUSIC or CINEMA setting all the speakers are working, except Front Right. I check the volume for each speaker and set it up to the...

The Stereo setting does not use any digital processing and likely avoids the decoding board completely. From your description, either the signal is not being decoded properly or the right channel signal path is being interrupted somewhere. Without taking measurements inside the unit, I cannot tell for sure where the problem lies. Careful examination of the processing board is required here. Take the unit to a repair shop for a detailed estimate. Armed with that info, we should be able to guide you through the actual repair.

If you have had this unit for a while I would try vacuuming or blowing it out because it sounds like the issue you are having is due to heat building up in the unit. Also make sure you have adequate airflow around the unit in other words make sure you have at least 2-3 inches of clearance on all sides and nothing sitting on top of the unit.

My Denon AVR-1709 was professionally installed. It lasted less than 2 years, then the speakers started popping, then a few days later there is no signal to any of the 5 speakers or subwoofer. same for all...

This is a case where the audio output ic's have failed, you describe a popping sound which is a classic sign of total audio collapse. Since this was a professional installation, I recommend a top of the line audio technician with an estimate in mind.

Denon AVR-1908 speaker issue

Before we play taps and throw dirt on top of the Denon, perhaps a bit more triage is in order. I'm not certain who the patient is. Especially when you have "speaker issue" in the title. Are you saying there are some speakers that don't work ONLY with BluRay?

If it has NEVER worked the (unnamed) BD player or its cable(s) could be at fault, too.

What 'connections' are we talking about. HDMI, coaxial- or optical audio, 5.1 analog; to what input on the Denon assigned to what function?

Have you tried all audio paths out of the BD player? Is it configured to squawk in the right digital mode?

Do you have any other digital audio sources (CD/DVD) you could use to certify the audio paths that don't work with the BD player?

If "Digital" sign blink on front panel, it means DSP do no start properly. If DSP do not start, main UC mute audio. Change IC, AT49LV002-70TC (IC 817 ) at DSP board (Denon P/N: 262 3010 006).
