I have a very old Westinghouse Air Brake 1BYC, Type Y, maybe model # 209878, air compressor. It is very slow to even pump 80 psi and then the pressure will leak completely to zero. I think wear of the...

If there is no external leakage, then air is probably slipping back past the valves. If the cylinders and rings are good, a valve change may fix it. There are still aftermarket parts available for these machines. As a rule of thumb, a rebuild with rings, gaskets, valves, and bearings usually runs about $100 per horsepower.

Woke up this morning neither the freezer or the refridge was working the inside lights are on it is old model ET18MK Probably time for a new one unless it is an inexpensive fix let me know

unfortunately most possibly it is problem with compressor which replacement is costly. sometimes it is only the auto switch situated on top or side of the compressor.

I have a galaxy fridge, side by side. it woke me up this morning making the LOUDEST noise! it sounded like it was coming from the motor underneath? i don't know a thing about refrigerators.... i just know...

Good day,
Motors make noise. There a 2 in the bottom back of the machine.
One is the compressor itself and the second is the cooling fan motor located in the same area. Someone will have to remove the rear bottom cover. If it's the fan motor, then the repair cost is nominal. On the other hand, if it's coming from the compressor itself, you have a major problem.

Compressor comes on but does not cool below 54

Good day,
The compressor is not starting. Either the compressor has failed, or the starting devices mounted on the side of the compressor are bad.

The parts mounted to the side of the compressor, are the overlaod protector, the starting relay, and on some models a start/run capacitor.
These items can be removed from the compressor, and taken to an appliance parts house for testing. You do not have to go to Sears. If the parts check O.K., then the compressor (a major cost item has failed).

P.S. If this machine is under 5 years of age. leave it alone. Call Sears for service. The compressor is under warranty for 5 years.

Compressor stopped working this morning. Only the fan seems to be operating ... drinks are warm. freezer still has ice... what can I do? thanks.

If you do hear the compressor running, check for air flow from the vents in the rear of the fridge compartment; there is a concealed fan responsible for splitting the cooled air between the two compartments and when this fails, the fridge suffers first.
Otherwise, it could be low coolant level, failed relay for the compressor, the compressor itself or the temperature controller. It will take some troubleshooting to better define the point of failure.

Refrigerator was working fine - this morning there is a puddle under the freezer door and booth sides of the unit are not cold. Compressor or reley continues to kick on for about 7 -8 seconds but will not...

Sounds like your compressor is laborring or on its way to seizing, either way it will soon fail, needs to be replaced. Depending on the age of the refergirator it may not be cost effective to have the repair done. Don't forget to check your owners manual to see if the compressor is still under any warranty! Good luck !

My freezer is not freezing and now the fridge is not cooling. Is is worth fixing?

Good day,
If the compressor has failed, then replacement of the machine might make sense, but a refrigerator is a complex device with many components, that can be replaced at nominal cost.
1. The defrost system failed. Usually shows up as frost building up on the rear panel of the freezer compartment. Consists of 3 parts.
2. Circulating fan motor in freezer compartment failed.
3. Condenser cooling fan motor located in the bottom rear of the machine behind the rear cover near the compressor.
4. Compressor not running because the start components failed.
These are mounted to the side of the compressor and consist of
the overload, start relay, and on some models a start/run capacitor.
5. Defective thermostat, not running the machine or not running it enough.
Once these basic items are checked, your question can be answered.

Can´t use INTEL SS4000-E to host the files of my database from SQL SERVER 2000

The SS4000-E  is a NAS storage server.  To the best of my knowledge it is not possible to put database files on a NAS.  They need to do on Direct Attached Storage.
