Hi Phillip, the charger is supply the power for your scooter to turn on , you need to check the batteries and battery connection, how old are the batteries and when were they last charged ?

Sounds like your new battery is flat. Try this. Sit someone in the car with the headlight on. Stand in front of the car and look at the headlights. Have the person in the car try to start it. When you hear the click, do the lights dim to a glow worm? If they do, your battery is flat. Whenever I get new batteries, I charge them overnight with a 6 amp charger.
Or when you reconnected the battery, the key wasn't in the ignition, and now your anti-theft is activated because it doesn't recognize the transponder in the key.
hi Carol, sorry but i need to knwo what controller is fitted to that scooter then i can more accurately advise you ? remove the seat with care regarding your back and the rear cover t, we looking for a black or blue unit that all the wires go into ?
I have added a charger socket for my phone/sat nav and wired in a relay that is activated when the lights are on. The live side of the relay is spliced into the headlight feed. The charger socket is then wired to the outlet side of the relay. No lights mean no power to socket. That way, when the key is off and bike left there is no chance the attached equipment will be left on and drain the battery. If you can do this then the radio will turn off when the lights are off. I do drive with my lights on at all times, but if you don't then just turning them on activates the relay.
defective batteries or charger, try to charge the batteries one at a time with a car charger, if they charge then replace the charger, if they do not then the batteries are in need of replacment.
Get a trick-Charger and hook up to battery, turn new key in ignition switch to "on" but do not start engine, turn headlights on ( thats why you need the charger) and leave it like that for 100+ minutes. That should do the trick and reprogram the new key, otherwise dealer only! about $130.00
