When I plug in the atx_12v connector into the motherboard (Gigabyte GA-8IPE775) I get continous beeping, have tried a different PSU, isolating mb from case and same problem.

  • greaseweasel Sep 17, 2009

Problem has been intermittent for the last 12 months, seems to come about every time i move the case, spend 2 days pulling it to bits and swearing at it, then will suddenly resolve itself.

Hi greaseweasel,

You may make sure that you have a high enough wattage power supply to run your Motherboard and accessories (graphics card, cd drive, memory, hard drives, etc)

Hope this helps.

I have a GA-81PE775-G motherboard, will a WD5002AALX (sata-3) be compatable with this

Hi, I have reviewed the Gigabyte Motherboard that you have mentioned. It has SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) supporting 150 MB per second. Which means that the Hard Drive of Western Digital (SATA 3) which you want to connect is compatible with the SATA port of your Motherboard.

However, the SATA 3 of your Hard Drive supports 3 Gb per second. Hence it will be working in 150 MB per second when you connect to your Motherboard.

Better than Amazon.com Andrew,

http://www.directron.com/ad202.html

Converts two 4-pin standard Peripheral power cables, (Molex) to one female 8-pin EPS +12 Volt power cable.

4-pin Peripheral +12 Volt power cable,

[ NOTE*
Designated a 4-pin Standard Peripheral power cable, because there is a 4-pin Small peripheral power cable ]

A) 8-pin EPS +12 Volt power cable,

B) Note the difference from an 8-pin PCI Express power cable,

turn your PC on with another PSU.
maybe it is half-burned (it means that the device works but not correctly and without error)
so check it out and you couldn't make it do this:
intercept all of cables of your PC case and even power cable of your monitor.
evolve battery of bios then wait for 25 minutes then connect all of cables and try turning on your PC:
1- with battery of bios
2- without battery of bios
it should work.
(this works cause the motherboard reset it's bios and start correctly again).

Caution: "almost all of Gigabyte and Foxconn got this problem"

Do I plug in BOTH the 20+4 ATX power connector AND the 8 pin 12V connector on a gigbyte MB (MA790GPT-UD3h)?

Hi

You only need to plug the 20+4 ATX power connector and how about the 8 pin 12V connector? Well that is use only for legacy type of motherboard that use to require it.

Hope it helps..

No power to GA-EP43-DS3L motherboard

When connecting your psu and its atx connector to the mainboard, have you connected the +4 connector ? If your psu does not have this extra +4 connector, you may need to buy one.

Also check you have connected the cpu power (12v 4 pin plug)

I have a Motherboard gigabyte GA-8PE800. when i

Hi,
The ATX 12v ( 4 pin Connector ) is For The CPU Power.
This could Indicate, either A Faulty CPU.
Or a fault To The Motherboards ( BGA ) or CPU Socket Holder.
Or alternatively, The Actual PSU Itself is Faulty.
You can obtain A CPU Socket Tester from e-bay. And A PSU Tester.

Hope This Helps Mike @ Compurepair.

Problem with GA 8LD533

There are a few easy fixes for this, first,

Clear the CMOS (Unplug the power cord, remove the battery, and (if it's an option) move the jumper J1 (it has three pins, the jumper covers two, move it to cover the other one), unplug everything external from the motherboard apart from the PSU and power switch and speaker, replace battery, powercord, and jp1, power up - what happens?
