Do you have this vented to the outside? If not, the moisture/humidity in the air will make it longer to dry the load as obbosed to dry air.
The exhaust tube must be clear and not kinked (you knew that).
It's possible that one "hot" leg of the 220V outlet is tripped. Check the circuit breaker (it should be two breakers or a "double" breaker.
Hope this helps!
A Whirlpool dryer either heats or doesn't heat . If it heats , but takes a long time to dry , then you have an air flow problem . Check the vent hose in back to make sure it is not "kinked " , and check the outside vent , to make sure outside air flow is good . If the lint screen is at the door opening , remove the screen and look inside the housing , to make sure lint has not built up under the lint screen .
Before you call a repairman. check vent hose behind dyer for a kink or a clogged hose, also if vent goes up through the inside of drywall and up through wall and up and comes out of roof outside then clean that as well if clogged up it will cause the dryer to run longer , should be cleaned out every year or two. lowes selles a brush snake tool to clean out vents for like 40. dollars., otherwise you can hire a proffesional to clean out roughly 65-145 dollars. depeneding on were you live and who you use. hope this helped
Make sure that your moisture vent hose is not crushed or plugged with lint. Make sure where the moisture vent exits outside the house is not plugged with lint and there is plenty of airflow coming from the vent when the dryer is on. If the moisture vent hose or vent is restricted the clothing will get hot but take a long time to dryer due to the moisture does not leave the clothing. Is the dryer getting warm/hot when on? If it is not getting hot it could be a thermostat or heasting element issue.
You could have restricted airflow from the lint screen not being cleaned, a bad blower wheel, or a bad thermostat. take the vent hose off the back and check to see if the air flows out the dryer with good force, if so your vent is probably clogged or not open in the wall. the vent hose may also be picned off from puching the dryer back to far.
