Plays only 2 seconds of each song

I have a creative zen 8 gb music player, and I just synced it using windows media player. All the tracks loaded successfully but it only plays the first 2 or 3 seconds of each song. Some songs dont play at all.

Press the emergency reset button located on the side of the player. You will need a small pin or paper-clip to insert into the tiny hole. When the button is pressed, the player will turn off. Don't panic - turn it back on and it should function normally.

How to fixya Creative Zen MX 16 GB MP3 Player

I realized my firmware was still 1.0. and tht it coudnt b upgraded to 2.x.xx till media player 10 was installed and media player 11 removed.before you do anything......back up all music on your zen touch because the upgrade to 2.0.xx deletes everything on your mp3 player and sometimes the player wont be readable after uninstalling .......then you can do an auto update: http://support.creative.com/downloads/welcome.aspx?nDriverType=1#Manualselection from the manual downloads page, I did.. and there was numerous updates tht popped up after removing windows 11 media player and the other item that was required in the instructions located here: http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArticle.aspx?sid=16737 .
Hope this clears the air about upgrading the firmware to 2.0 so tht windows 7 can read your zen touch, sleek or other non supported creative-Tm hardware. I havnt finished upgrading yet because I Had so much on it that its taking me over 8 hours now just to sync my music with my computer so tht I wont lose the data when upgrading to firmware 2.x.xx

Is there a way to use your computer to delete music

Yes there is no way to speed the thing up i think, but if you have WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER then you can plug your zen in, let it load and when you enter WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER click on the sync button and then you will see the tabs on the left side of the screen. EX.( playlists ) click you name or whatever you listed the device under and pull down the tab. you will see a songs option click it and the songs that are on your zen will come up. click on whatever song you want and hit delete on you keyboard.

LOL i hope that helped.....

I have a Creative Zen V 1gb, when I put songs on it with Windows Media Player, and unplug it afterwards, and when i want to start listening the songs on my MP3, it doesnt show any tracks! while WMP says...

Try updating your firmware, because "default" firmwares have problems sometimes with WMP Sync features that also adds a DRM code to each transfered track.

If not, make sure you use standard .mp3 extensions for your songs, because on basic settings WMP converts your audio files to .wma when you transfer it to an mp3 player

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8g0sh7pc54
1. Fully charge the unit
2. Get a song to play
3. Lock the device
4. Wait for black screen and leave it like that for 20 seconds
5. Hold the play/pause button down and move the side switch out of lock mode, then push all the way down (like you're turning it off) and release (back to middle position)
6. Release the play/pause button

I just buy creative zen stone 1gb

Hey Sheikhea!

You won't need to download or install any programs if you have Windows Media Player on your computer. You can use other programs but WMP is probably the easiest!

  1. Plug in your MP3 player using the USB cord (should be in box)
  2. Open WMP
  3. (If your songs are already in Library skip this step). Click "File" (top left hand corner) then "Add to Library..." Click "OK" WMP will now find all music on your computer and add it to Library.
  4. If the internet is connected WMP will attempt to find song info such as title, artist, album etc. Otherwise right click on song and click "Edit"
  5. Click on "Sync" tab (top of player). A sidebar should appear with "Creative zen.. etc" written on the top.
  6. Drag songs into sidebar.
  7. Click "Start Sync"
  8. The songs will now download onto your MP3 player.
To organise your files into folders etc. go to "My Computer" then "Creative Zen etc" then "Music" and create folders (right click "create folder") copy, paste, and drag your songs in folders as you like.

You can now unplug you MP3 player and turn it on!

Please reply so I can know if this information was helpful or not and can help you further.

Happy MP3ing!

C cover art does not transfer to my zen vision m, only the music tracks transfer

A few possibilities. Go to http://193.95.171.83/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=224,E=0000000000373151655,K=1742,Sxi=15,Case=obj(8179),Kb=ww_english_add,VARSET=ws:http://us.creative.com/

for more details

Creative ZEN players do not currently support album art from Rhapsody version 4.0.
Album art is either embedded in a track, or exists as a thumbnail image in a separate file, allowing one album art file to be associated with an album. Currently, Rhapsody only supports album art embedded in the track. Future versions of Rhapsody are expected to support thumbnail versions.
Creative Media Explorer or Windows Media Player 10 or 11 can be used to transfer music purchased from Rhapsody to a player with album art included.

Album Art is supported by Creative ZEN, Creative ZEN V Plus, ZEN V, Vision:M and ZEN Vision players.
The ZEN Vision (PF1150) requires a firmware update for Album Art. You can download the updated firmware:
If you experience any difficulty transferring Album Art with Windows Media Player 10 or 11, to ZEN Vision:M, delete WMPInfo.xml (see below), and then transfer the tracks again.
