Does anyone know the answer? This was posted in October 2010! I ran the self clean too about a week ago. But we had a bunch of power outages last night. Today my oven has taken to beeping and flashing the F1 code. It is almost the same Model number. they wrote 9875XRB (not 5XRB) ...
Thanks for using FixYa. F1 error indicates that the control board (ERC) has gone bad and the electronic range control (ERC) should be replaced to resolve the issue. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
"F1" code clearly indicates that main control board has failed. The possible fix for this kind of problem is you have to replace the faulty circuit board. This is the only solution and you cant repair anything else in this unit when F1 flashes.
Thank you !!
Gain access to the back of the clock (electronic range
control or ERC).
Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This
will be a flat wire approx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide.
Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when
power is turned back on.
Turn power back on to stove.
Watch for the F1 and listen for the beep.
If you get the F1 and beep, replace the
ERC.
If after approx. 30 minutes you do NOT get the F1 and hear
the beep, replace the touch pad.
NOTE: Some models incorporate the touch pad and the clock as one part. *
We have seen a few of the newer Maytag
ranges with a F1 fault code and the problem was the oven temp sensor, check
carefully the wires to and from the oven temp sensor!!
Hi. This (f-1) code represents a failed oven control board. Have this damaged board replaced asap, if possible. It has failed. Possible logic chip set failure.
I used the self cleaning mode for 2 hours and the error f2 keeps flashing and beeping, I did try to power off with the breaker and left it off for about a half hour and it still continues to beep and flash f2, what should I do?
