What sort of a preamp are u using this needs to be plugged into the lo impedance XLR input (this is a lo output dynamic mic 1.85Mv out)
The XLR should be input pin 2 return (gnd) pin 3.This mic does not NOT use phantom power (48v) if it is a dual input (pin 1 48v) source make sure the phantom power is turned of.
If this is being done then there maybe a problem with the mic.
You can check this by plugging a source in to the input to check that it is working line out from cd player midi or some other source.

Is sm58 wireless mic compatible t4a receiver-shure

The "SM58" is just the cartridge on the top. It would depend on the model of handheld transmitter. The model number is on a sticker in the battery compartment.

Used Shure SM58 has a tinny sound.

It probably needs the cartridge replaced. You can order a new cartridge from Shure or send the mic to Shure for repairs.

Hi i have this system 2X Shure LX4 Wireless MARCAD Receiver + SM58 Microphone can i buy seperate SM58 MICROPHONE to use in this system? thx. mike

The LX series was discontinued by Shure several years ago. They no longer have any new transmitters that would work with your receiver. You could look for a used transmitter, but it would need to be on the exact same frequency as your receiver. That will not be easy to find.

I have two Shure sm58 mics that simply will not work...I do not know where to begin. How should I trouble shot?

If these are wired SM58 mics, they will probably need to be sent to Shure for repairs. The cost to repair is less than purchasing a new one, and they will usually just send you a new mic.
