I set the date in my Olympus Stylus 1010 camera and I can see it on the view screen, but it does not show up on pictures. Is there a step I missed in the setup?
It doesn't get printed on the pictures. The info is stored along with the picture and is called metadata. This info can be retrieved with most photo editing programs.
SOURCE: I have the date on
Normally many cameras do not have date printing in its feature ..... while there wud a date setting ..... still try in your menu if there is any time or date stamping feature that needs to be turned on

I had Canon and Sony cameras previously and when I transferred pictures from the camera into the program I use (PaintShop) the date was always visible in the lower right corner on each picture. I didn't have to do anything. With this Olympus camera there is no date. I know the info is stored with the picture because I can see it in the file information tab but I don't know how to make it appear on the picture itself.
Thanks, typrice. It seems that for some strange reason, the date can only be made visible when the pictures are printed, and not if they are displayed on a monitor. Not much use for me, since I rarely print. I will have to include dates in my filenames then.
