My universal remote stopped working, I bought another one and it doesn't work either, I mean it doesn't work with my set, it seems I programmed it correctly but when I try to change the channel it doesn't work...is it my TV set?

you can program most universal remotes to work the tv and menu the child lock is activated on the tv and the buttons will not work only power button will work as long as it has not been set to not work when made. some are set this way. but a remote with the right code set will turn on the tv.

Return the tv universal remote where u bought it,u only used a universal remote when u must have too,because universal remotes are very strangely and react differencely each models of tvs u tries to programming it codes to it CPU chip.Norcent tvs are recent tvs in the market,have many spare original remote.Try website like Remotes.com to buy the tv original remote.

Transmitting doesn't mean it's working, What you should do to test it is use a good quality universal remote such as a Logitech Harmony and first program the preset code for your receiver into the Universal Remote. If that works, you know your OEM remote has gone bad, at least for those buttons. If it doesn't then you you should attempt to have your Universal Remote "learn" the IR signals from your receiver's remote If the controls still don't work, there is a problem with either your IR receiver on your receiver or the the circuitry that proceesses the signals into commands. either the remote is bad or on the tv the circuit board at has the remote receiver on it is bad. If you bought it new and it has a warranty contact them for service. If not you could try programming a universal remote to see if it will work your set.

You have to program them both at the same time. you have to do this fairly quickly as the programming window is small.
