SOURCE: 2001 Chevy Impala Security System

I have a 2001 Impala. My security light will flash and sometimes the car won't start. My dad told me turn the key to the start position, place your foot on the break, put your car in the last gear it was in (D, R, or N). Then shift all the way back into park. Make sure you shift all the way into park. Take your foot off the break. Then turn ignition back to off. Your car should then start right up. He said the sensor still thinks the car is in D, R, or N although it's in park. So it confuses the system and it doesn't start because it doesn't know which function to do. It pretty much locks up. I'm pos. this will work. My car does it every few months. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 1997 chevy s10 blazerdash wont light up when key

the dash sound's like a fuse, check the fuse box under the hood and in the door jamb on the side of the dash, also check your fuel filter and fuel pump, im betting on the pump because i have a 2001 chevy blazer that has had two replaced and it has 233000km on it!

SOURCE: I have a 2001 Olds

you can not bypass the security in that car, it is built into the main computer, they have problems with the ignition switch screwing up and the only way to start it while the light flashes is to turn the key to ON but don't crank engine, leave on for 10 to 15 minutes until light goes out then start car.

1997 chevy 1500 z71 cylider 1 misfire

Start by inspecting the spark plug. If it looks ok, swap it with another cyl and see if the miss follows the plug. Do the same with the wire. If the miss changes with the part, that is the problem. If it stays with the cyl make sure you are getting spark from the dist cap. If the miss is still there, check engine compression. If it is good, may have a bad injector or mechanical problem or vacuum leak

I have a 96 Chevy s10 it cranks but won't start I

You need to find out if the fuel pump is working, getting gas up to the engine.
If the pump is working and seen to have good fuel pressure, check ignition by checking for spark.. To work, the engine needs, you know, gas, air, spark, and compression. Why people say, check for gas, check for spark.

1990 Chevy s10 won't start, have replaced plugs, wires, timing chain, fuel pump, distributor, starting fluid nothing helps

Have you checked for a broken timing chain, that would be the next step. Make sure number one cylinder is up on compression stroke when the timing mark is on 0 degrees BTDC on the crank pulley. Pull the plug and feel the pressure as it nears TDC.

Misfire on number 6 plug code p0306on 1997 chevy silverado

that code means the #6 cylinder is not putting out power, it doesn't mean any paticuliar part is at fault, it can be low cylinder compression, a defective fuel injector or computer, a defective plug or ignition coil or a large intake manifold vaccum leak .
