Green picture off and on, audio ok

This TV was used very little in the last 4 years. Was working fine (with a converter box) for the last month or so after getting the converter box - then the next day it went kaput.

I think you chose a Westinghouse Lemon, go this site and read all of the negative reviews of this model;

http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-tvs/westinghouse-sk-32h240s/4852-6482_7-32429419-2.html?tag=userReviews;page

Here's just one of the reviews;"best chunk of aluminum i ever had the fortune to buy"by stevecox25 on June 11, 2009-->
"Horrible customer service on a worse television" by westinghousecrap on March 20, 2009 Pros: Good picture once it is properly adjusted.
Cons: Low quality audio, had the TV for 10.5 months and the picture went out, sent the TV at MY expense to TX, and I've been waiting for 2 months, and customer service can only say that there is a "delay". And they don't send a new TV, it's a rebuild.
Summary: Please don't waste your money on this TV, spend a little more on a different brand and save yourself the headaches I've had. I'll never purchase a Westinghouse product again. Customer service has been no help, and their answers are vague at best. Learn from my nightmare, NCAA march madness on a old 19" TV because my Westinghouse quit working 2 months ago and they still haven't replaced it.

During the past year, we've had to buy five converter boxes quit.

My DTA1050 worked OK. Then, after a period of non use, it would not work stating no signal. The antenna tests OK on a digital TV.
These things simply die, and Access has our government money!

Hi 4 yo x box 360 turns on fine with normal

If you are using the component cables, assuming it's the same cables that came with it 4 years ago, there is a little switch on the part that hooks up to the Xbox360. The two options are HD and Regular. Try moviing that switch to the other position. Also try another tv, friends or family if you don't have another one. Also, if you have a friend with a 360, swap out the component cables as these have been known to go bad after a while.

I have an older Sanyo (approximately 8 years old) and my remote control is damaged (only the buttons/controls on the right side are working, volume turns up but not down, most of the left keys do nothing)....

If you are feeding the signal from your digital converter into the TV antenna input, I would input the converters signal to the TVs video input instead. I am assuming your converter has a video output signal and left & right audio so you will need cables for your audio also. If your converter has only rf output for the TV tuner input it is generally on either channel 3 or 4 and there may be a switch to set this. It is possible that when the TV scanned for channels the converter was off and it did not find a signal on 3 or 4. If you can get the TV to re-scan, be sure the converter is turned on and on an active channel. All your channel selection should be via the converter after that and the TV simply stays on 3 or 4. I would suggest looking in to getting the original remote. Try partstore.com and see if they have one for your model.

My digital stream converter box DTX9900 was purchased on 8/7/08

My (otherwise great...) DTX9900 converter box died with these same symptoms. (Units green LED flashes continuously and unit is dead)

Upon inspecting the unit I located a blown electrolytic capacitor on it's power supply board. After replacing the blown capacitor the converter has worked fine. A blown capacitor can be identified visually. The canister's top will be expanded out instead of flat. Just compare all of the caps. Look for any that are not flat on top. Blown caps will usually be discolored. The bad cap in my unit was a 330uf / 16v - 105c value cap. I replaced it with a slightly superior brand 330uf / 25v - 105c cap.

The green is taking over all the color on the tv

March 14, 2009

I have the same TV which had the same issue ( green in picture ) - back on 10/2007. I called Sony. They had their technician replace the optical box ( factory defect ). There was no charge for the repair even though TV was out of first year of warranty. Call Sony.

Green screen with sound from cable, but picture is fine with Wii

That would be my solution. The trouble is either in the box or your connecting cables. Verify this by connecting the cable directly to the set. Then try a new set of connecting cables, or call the cable provider to replace the box.

17 yr. old 35" RCA loses color intermittently. Picture & sound ok

Three guns Red Blue and Green in the picture tube of an old CRT set. If one of the guns goes out it effects that color. Sounds like one of the guns inside of the tube is going out, To costly to replace for such an old antilog set that will have to have a convertor box next month anyway.
