Most flat irons come with a safety setting where as soon as they get to a certain temperature, they shut off (to keep the customer safe). Try turning the setting down to a medium-hot. Also, if it stays on for a long time it will shut off by default to help with accidentally leaving it on.
1. Try turning the heat down
2. Don't let it set for long
3. Try hitting the reset button. Sometimes the settings get shifty, so resetting the device can sort out the problem.
4. If none of the steps work, take it back. There is something wrong with the flat iron, like a short in it.
you have to remove the front panel to reset the thermostat. open the lid, remove the (2) outboard front white beauty caps. remove the (2) phillips screws under the caps. pull the entire top section up. remove the (2) horizontal screws at the top front cover. pull the front cover towards you . the thermostat will be in the lower right of center. push the red button and you should have heat.
The sensor that measures moisture content is either covered in lint or it has failed. You need to partially dismantle the unit to completely de-fluff it.
I have a F&P dryer DEGX1 about three years old , followed kristi's advice and it worked. There are two screws holding the information panel on, inside there is a schematic with instructions on how to put the dryer in diagnostic mode and how to take the front panel off. i reset the breaker located at the bottom of the front panel on the heating element box and put it back together and it worked.
My vent cover outside was frozen shut and this caused the breaker to blow saving the heater elements, am changing the vent cover to a different design to prevent this happening again
any ideas on where to buy the part?
