Every 90,000 miles or 72 months per manufacturers recommendations.

is the belt glazed? between age and miles it would be a good choice to replace it any way. i would also replace the tensioner. as far as the timing belt goes, i thought they suggested that one a 100k, but it sounds like a good price at least here in california.

If it is running perfectly I wouldn't think that you would need to replace the timing belt. You shouldn't need to replace that until 100,000-120,000 miles. I would definitely hold off until now unless you have start having some timing problems. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!
SOURCE: My lexus rx300 new belts are squealling, battery light on,
as the a/c motor is a pump (resistance to turning),if the belt is not adjusted correctly(too loose)it will squeel, and the alternator will not produce enough power to keep the battery charged up.you should always retension the belts after about 1k/1 month after fitting new.
adjust so that the longest run of the belt, between pulleys, has 1/2"flex

check for a bad tensoiner or bad stationary pulley
