This temporary storage of fax may happen when one of your cartridge is detected low ink level. Try to replace your low ink cartridge. Sadly, if you have navigated away from the fax menu after inserting a new cartridge or clearing the message, you may lose the fax. You can try to have the sender resend the message. When this problem happens again, just replace your cartridge without turning off your printer. Once inserted, accept the incoming fax message to print it.
in order your fax to print you need to replace the cartridge when the cartridge is low it stops printing incomming faxes and keep it in mem untill you replace it with a new one unfortunly this cartridge can not be refilled and use it Hp is better on this
The default setting for an Officejet 4255 is to answer the phone after 2 rings. You can change this setting to a higher number of rings which will give you time to answer the phone before the fax picks up.
The instructions you need to change the default answer setting can be found on page 47 of the user manual.
ok..first try to make a copy and check if it copies fine or not..
if it copies then hardware is working fine..
turn off the laptop and unplug the USB cable..
turn on the laptop and wait for 5mins and then connect the USB cable..once the USB cable is connected do not try printing..wait for the hardware to get installed..
and then go to the printers folder and check if the printer icon says 0 ready..if it says then try printing..that should work
Try making a copy of something.
If the copy comes out the same way as your faxes, then the ink cartridge is either dirty or clogged.
You can try removing the cartridge and checking the bottom of it.
You can even wipe the bottom of the cartridge with some denatured alcohol.
If this doesnt work, then purchase a new cartridge and your problem should be solved.
Good luck. Hope this helps. Mac =)
You can't move to another planet unless you take me with you!
A couple questions, please.
Can you make a copy?
Did you replace the cartridge with a NEW HP branded cartridge?
BTW I've never left the States, but if I did NZ is the first place I want to see. Is it as great as I imagine it?
Let me know the answers to the first 2 questions anyway
Thanks,
Ed
