My camera lens won't go back in and is making weird noises.

My camera lens won't go back in. the camera is also making a weird sound when i turn it on. when i tried what you said to do (holding the lens back as you start the camera until you hear or feel a small "bump") it didn't work, so what do i do?? i need to know within the next 5 hours please.

I have a sony camera . its lens is not turning back and producing noises . when i power on the camera i recieved a message on the screen "turn the power off and restart again" . guide me how i remove this type of error ?

Since you said it makes noise when you turn it on, the gear system controlling the lens might be faulty. have it checked.

hi. you have problem in lens unit and the weird noise come from to focus gear.maybe you go to the beach or dusty place thats why the said dust or sand goes into lens gear. If you can open and try to clean its better but if not bring to service center and request for cleaning and adjustment.

S220 Coolpix has a lens error problem, turn camera on tries to focus (Lens moves in and out making a weird noise) but comes up with a lens error problem

Did it drop? sounds like the motor is trying to move the lens as you need, but the lens has come out of its tracking. If there is no outside damage and you still have warranty left, you should get it replaced, otherwise it means opening it to place the lens back on its tracking, but this can be tricky.
