Could it be the internet connection sometimes is not fast enough? or someone else is downloading from the net the same time, or just streaming music or video over the net. All kind of reasons why the sound could stutters.
It's because the video isn't downloading fast enough. When a video starts playing just hit the pause button ( || ) and do something else for 2 or 3 minutes or so. When you come back, you will see that the red line has advanced most if not all the way to the right. Then hit the play button ( > ) and your video will play without stuttering or freezing.
There could be a number of different problems; 1: Connection issues; is your internet service slow? 2: Processor; what's your processor's clock speed vs the video quality? 3: More RAM could never hurt to fix the problem. My advice to you is to pause the video and let it load entirely / buffer and all that.
You probably have a very active anti-virus program running at the same time and not enough memory to run both smoothly.
1. Turn off (or uninstall) anti-virus software. Use AVG by Grisoft instead (free).
2. Won't hurt to add memory.
I have the same problem with 640x320 video @ 30fps. The first one was very clean, but after that the video freezes every two seconds, but the audio don't. I "fixed" this issue changing the video format from NTSC to PAL. Now the videos are smooth again, and if you want NTSC playback, just use a video converter on your PC.
