Trouble shooting and routine maintenance

My printer just keeps showing trouble shooting and routine maintenance and refers me the the users guide the error message I keep getting is: clean unable 46

I know that clean unable 46 means the ink filter needs to be clean and I have done that but still am getting the same message. I have cleaned every part of this printer, moving or not, it looks brand new now. Just wish it would work. Can someone please tell me where the reset button to the Brothers MFC-240c is? Or offer any other advice?

Thank you,
Melissa

46 means the ink absorber box is full, it only costs around $10.00 to replace but you need to get into service mode to reset the counter. I'm not allowed to give out that info...

  • That is so cute. I can get any problem and service code on this site for almost all copiers but you say you cant give this info. What is it... TOP SECRET?

  • Anonymous Apr 08, 2012

It's not top secret, but the ink tank is so small that if you reset the error code without
replacing it, the ink will overflow inside and ruin the printer and probably the desk
or table that it sits on.

TROUBLE SHOOTING AND ROUTINE MAINTENANCE

Click here to visit Brother Official Support & Download page for DCP-7030. User Guide, Troubleshooting information etc are available. You can also search for specific issues from the troubleshooting section. The most important point as far as routine mainenance is concerned is I think keeping the printer clean, using good quality paper and genuine supplies/toner.
Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.

Hope this helps! Good Luck!
