U051 error message. Won't print

Well, you must be using PG30, CL31 cartridge for your printer.

Did you refill your cartridge?
For error 051 means printer is not reading the cartridge. (cartridge is not readable)
When you put refilled cartridge, that's what it happens.
(after 3~4 times of color refill, color cartridge is no long to use, only applies in Canon
and there is no solution for it.)

Pls replace with new one.. and will work again.

Or if you need to refill again with other cartridge, pls....unplug your printer before you taking out the cartridge. In this way, you can re use your cartridge. Little trick... but no solution will work, once cartridge is not readable.

If you would like to save money, try refill kit by "ROADINK".
Not only they are easy, but also the printing quality is good.
For your better understanding pls check out my youtube video.
And will see how easy ink refill can be done.

Printer continually says put in cartridge even though I have (twice). I have checked over and over that the cartridge is firmly installed. Is there a sensor somewhere which needs cleaning or resetting?

Did you used refilled cartridge?

Sometimes for Canon printer, when u used refilled cartridges, they are not readable.
It's called E5 error.

In this case, you need to replace the cartridge with new one.

I have a canon pixma mx320. I purchased on line refillable ink cartridges. The problem is the printer will not let me copy, print or even fax. The screen keeps reading black ink volume level not readable....

Go into the Canon Printer Utilities. Click on Solution Menu folder. Click on Solution Menu icon.
A new window will open up. Click on "Change settings or find solutions to problems.
A new window will open up. This screen will give you 3 selections to choose from.
They are: Printer Settings, Printer Status and Troubleshooting. You will be able to reset your ink cartridge levels from these windows and try to print again.

Low ink indicator and I refilled my cartridges, how do I get my printer to recognize they are now full?

Open the Lexmark control Panel and select the Ink Cartridges Alignment tool. In the windows should be a place where you can select whether you have installed new ink cartridges. Also, make sure you do the alignment before trying to print. Finally, if you're using replacement type cartridges made by a third party company, they may not be detectable by the Lexmark system... many are not 100% compatible and don't have the electrical connection properly designed to be readable by the Lexmark software.

Ink replacement has not helped print

Sounds like a damaged or dirty flex cable to the print heads. If those tiny contacts go bad, nothing will print properly. Check the cartridge and socket area for any dirt or dis-coloration. The connections can be cleaned with contact cleaner (from radio shack), and then dried with isopropl alcohol (use the purest you can find).
