SOURCE: Disc won't spin. Disc doesn't show up in browser

You got a problem with the lasers data getting back to the Motherboard.
One of these could be your problem

  1. Laser lens is melted. Look at the lens with a magnifying glass to see if it or its supporting frame is melted. REplace the laser in this case.
  2. The ribbon Cable going from the Laser to the motherboard is damaged or loose.
  3. Your laser is burned out. Press the two interlock to override the door being open, to see if the laser even lights up. 2 switches, one at rear left corner, one behind the On/reset switch.
  4. Your Laser is dirty and needs cleaning look at it with a magnifying Glass to make sure you got it clean. Use Q-tip and window glass cleaner, not alcohol.

SOURCE: Won't burn CD-r or DVD-R

Hi,
make sure that your program that is setup to record. i.e nero-img burn et,c. is set to look at the drive D:- Or E:- whichever letter your drive is assigned by the computer.
Also try using a different Blank-media. if any disk has failed a full write, without finalizing Or creating the Table Of Contents. It will read as Empty Or Blank. you can see This By looking carefully at the underside of the Disk, to see whether it has been burned by the laset. ( Towards The Centre ) if the Dye is darker on the inner-edge, then this is possible.
You can also try using a different Packet writing software, or re-install the program.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Discs I have recorded I get the disc can neither be played nor recorder, and it erases what I have already and already watched.

I have the same unit. Similar problem but mine does not erase the disc. It says disc error on almost all dvd that are store bought and kicks them out. Will play almost all of the ones I recorded on it and finalized. I must let a disc in it at all times or door will not open. Lots of bad stuff on the net about this unit. It is a lemon! Mine is out of warranty and sony wants $175 to fix. Saw some blogs where it was serviced 3 times and still not right. Buy a new one before investing in the unit you have as there are many gremlins in it! Sorry I cannot offer specific help but this is where I am at!!

The loading mechanism needs to be repaired or replaced. This is a common fault. Unfortunately, this is not a really cheap fix. Usually the loading carriage needs to be replaced at a cost of about $40 or so/

SOURCE: same problem "movie recording disabled"

Scott,
Since this is a new camera, nothing was changed as far as the disc, it should work, has it been switched to "still" for photos, that's the message that comes up when you change it. You shouldn't have to finalize the disc before you shut off the camera, try starting it with another disc then shut it off replace it with your baptism disc and try to preview the video, if it shows you should be able to aad to it or then finalize it.

I have one mds e 11 end dont record .apears protect on the display

Most likely you have the tab in the minidisc set to protect preventing the recorder from recoding on the disk C11 is the same as Protected.

Slide the notch on the minidisc to the other side to record. You cannot record on pre recorded minidiscs. You have to remove the disc from the recorder to do this.

If you open theprotect tab the recorder may write over what you already have on the minidisc.

Please check if your blank DVD's are dual layer ( DL ) 8.5 GB disc. If so your player does not support dual layer writing. It will record only on 4.7GB single layer blank discs.

I insert a disc that is pre recorded into side a and insert a blank cdrw into side b and its telling me unreadable disc?

Which one is unreadable? The pre-recorded disc must have been finalized. Where was it recorded?

The blank must have the word "audio" somewhere in its type definition.

Disc inserted for recording, "no disc"?

Have you tried other discs? Are the ones you are trying to use supported by the recorder? If so, see if a DVD burner in a PC will recognize the discs. You may want to try a different brand as well in the recorder.

Disc error message when load DVD

Are you loading to play or to record?
Commercial DVDs should play.
DVDs for recording may not be recognized by your drive. First make sure that the disc is blank. You must insert a blank disc of the proper format: DVD-R or RW, DVD+R or RW. Even with the proper format, some brands may not behave the same way as other brands.
