Ge microwave spacemaker xl1800

There is what i believe to be an error code (F3) and a triple beep emitting from the microwave. what is this signify and what is the solution, thank you very much tom cook

    GE microwave just beeps and lists an F3 code. Can not push any buttons at all.

    F3 code appears along with 3 beeps. None of the buttons on the keypad work. Woke us up in the middle of the night . . .

    fan motor comes on by itself sometimes and then goes off after cooking on gas burner below. I got a code R one time.

F-3 means shorted touch panel pad. In order to attempt clearing the code yourself, please follow the steps below:

  1. Press CLEAR/OFF or CANCEL.
  2. Program control again.
  3. If the fault code appears again, disconnect power to the microwave for 30 seconds.
  4. Program the cooking function again.
  5. IF it comes back up you should change out the panel hope that helps, good luck

F3 means that a contact is shorted on the control panel. Replacement contact panel required I think.

Spacemaker beeping loud and f3 message driving us crazy
The error code F3 indicates an oven sensor problem. The oven sensor is most likely the failed part. The oven sensor probe must have the correct resistance readings at specific temperatures. When the electronic range control (ERC) cannot identify the correct resistance of the oven sensor or the resistance is way out of specs F3 will display.
I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your oven.

Have a ge spacemaker xl1800 - f3 error
I had the same problem. I removed the grill and opened the control panel as I read an answer from "GENE" on APP (Appliance Pros) that this indicated a short in the circuit board (TouchPad). I was going to replace the faulty circuit board but when I opened the control panel there it was......One wire harness had just came unplugged!! I plugged it in, reassembled and the microwave works again!
