The scan beam is fixed and can not be adjusted. However moving the n410 closer to the bar code will reduce the width of the beam itself. The narrow beam is designed to accommodate static stands as well as manual use.
Simply hold the n410 a few inches away from the bar code and the beam will be able to read the code underneath. No adjustment except the distance between the n410 and the barcode is required.
Increase the default time-out to 5 minutes by going to:
Control Panel > Power > Advanced
Select On Battery power: Turn off device if not used for 5 minutes.
If the scanner beeps just once after a scan, than he recognize the barcode and sends the data to the computer. If you dont receive any data, you are waiting for them on wrong interface. Data from USB or KeyboardWedge do come to Notepad/Word etc. The data from Serial RS232 Connection can you see only in Hyperterminal or similar application.
If you have a model with Wireless functionality, can you use the Fusion application to manage your wireless connection. There should be an icon in the right corner.
You need to find out which authentication and encryption is used on the specific WLAN.
Then launch through clicking on the Fusion icon the Find WLANs dialog and follow the process of creating of new WLAN Profile.
Hello, If you are willing to use VB.NET, then it will be easy. You would need the Symbol EMDK. With that and VS2008 (Express should be fine as well), you only need few coding steps:
1) Add reference to dlls Symbol.dll and Symbol.Barcode.Dll
2) Finder a scanner s = Symbol.Barcode.Device.AvailableDevices.First()
3) make a reader r = New Symbol.Barcode.Reader(s)
4) add data d = New Symbol.Barcode.ReaderData(1, 1024)
