I use a sidekick Lx for At&t that I unlocked myself. When you start up your sidekick it should ask you for a network unlock or ask you to enable your sim card just click the cancel key on the top right of your device. Now click the top left menu button and go into your settings, and go to 'sim center' it'll ask you to enable your sim card again just enter a random 4 digit number and it'll tell you its wrong but thats ok, click ok and just cancel it out :) it'll then show you "disable sim lock" "change sim pin" change your sim pin to a number you'll remember because the way im showing you you'll have to do this every time you restart your phone (my sim pin was by default 1111) you can enter the same pin number for the old sim pin, and new sim pin options. Once you do that a white phone icon should appear on your screen underneath your time and date. Now, go back into your settings and go to network options, scan and select your network manually, and there you go :) Sorry though with all unlocked phones you'll only be able to make calls and text. No picture messaging sadly :( You need a T-mobile sidekick plan for all that :(

Unlocking iPod
You can unlock iPod in one of two ways:
Enter the combination on iPod using the same controls you used to set the combination. If you do not enter the correct combination, the digits onscreen flash red. When you enter the combination correctly, iPod will unlock and return you to the last viewed screen.
Connect iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.
If you can't unlock iPod using either of these methods, you can restore your iPod to factory settings. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to iPod.
Ipod Lock
You can unlock iPod in one of two ways: 1...Enter the combination on iPod using the same controls you used to set the combination. If you do not enter the correct combination, the digits onscreen flash red. When you enter the combination correctly, iPod will unlock and return you to the last viewed screen. 2...Connect iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked. If you can’t unlock iPod using either of these methods, you can restore your iPod to factory settings. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to iPod. If you want to change the primary computer that your iPod is associated with, do this: 1. Restore your iPod. Warning: The restore process cannot be undone. All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data. 2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer. 3. Open iTunes and synchronize.
Important: Apple representatives cannot unlock an iPod if you forget your combination. If you can’t unlock your iPod and you don’t have access to the primary computer, your only option is to restore the iPod, which will erase all music and data.
Good Luck, I hope this helps

Well, to make a long story short, I finally unlocked my ipod after perilous hours of invalid guesses. What did I do? I have a habit of making obvious passwords-I simply goofed this time. I used the last four digits of my mother's cellphone number! Yes, yes, silly me silly me. However, I was quite relieved when I finally unlocked it. Thanks! =)
