I broke the glass portion of my blender and need to replace the entire top. The model number is 34BL87 Waring Blender. How can I find the exact glass top for this item?

Enter the model number and you will get the best parts diagram I have seen. Once you identify the part number, you can order it right there on line. Have a credit card ready. J.
Hi - there is a website called nisbets.co.uk that has all the spare parts for this Waring blender, plus a great diagram which is much better than anything in the blender instructions.
If you don't see a physical crack or stress line on the jar, the issue could be either the gasket or blade assembly - Waring doesn't list any parts for sale for this model, but you may be able to call them and get these parts. There are not very many reviews on this particular Waring, so I am working with very limited information (and this is just my opinion), but the few that I have seen suggest that this might be the worst blender Waring ever made (in general, though, their blenders are usually top-notch).
Consumer Guide generally rates it high, but issues this:
"Cons: Strong churning motion requires you to hold the lid in place to prevent leakage through the top and limits the ingredients capacity, especially for hot mixtures"
The sites that invite the most user input into the rating generally give it a 2-star rating.
Waring seems to have escaped somewhat from their usual blender shape - and I have even heard that the shaft is made out of rubber, which is frightening.
I just figured it out. The key is you need to think in terms of keeping the blades and the large washers separate. Here's what you do.
Thread the blade through the glass and use the white rubber gaskets against the glass and the stainless gaskets against the hardware. Then tighten the whole enchilada to the blender with the main nut (that goes on the bottom outside of the blender). Then once that's nice and tight tighten the flange that catches the blender teeth to the remaining portion of the protruding threads. Make sure you use the copper colored gasket first then the stainless washer then the stainless flange. Tighten that real good and you should be good to go.
To check if you've done it right spin the flange. If the blades spin independent of everything else you're good to blend away!
Exact same problem. Turned out the threaded shaft that holds the blades was broken so tightening the nut on the top doesn't really help. Just ordered a new blade assembly from www.smallappliance.com. Mine was the Waring 007314W Blender Cutting Assembly but there is also an older one for earlier models. Don't know if it will work yet (assume it will), but cheaper than buying a new blender.
