I have a Samsung Alias (SCH-u740) with verizon. Yesterday it worked fine, today when I try to place a call, it says "Calling..." for maybe 10 seconds then goes back to the main screen. It never connects, its not one of those situations where I can't hear them but they can hear me, the call never goes through. One out of the 20 or so times I have tried to place a call today, it said something like "signal faded, lost call!" that happened after I restored factory defaults. but it hasn't said that again. (I have 2-3 bars, and tried going outside for the best signal.) It kinda flickers when it switches back to the main screen. Can't call anyone. Apparently no one can call me - it told me I have a voice mail, but the phone never rang, and it says i have no missed calls. And yet - texting still works perfectly fine!! Have also tried removing the battery.
SOURCE: where do i put in my simcard on the samsung alias?
hi thanks for using fixya!
Unfortunately, you cannot. Verizon phones have integrated SIM cards that you cannot take out. You cant unlock a verizon phone.
Regards!
SOURCE: My phone won't send/receive calls or txts. NO SERVICE
what you need to tell the service provider is that to delete the vLR on they network then add it again

hey, make sure that the simcard that you are using is supported by your celphone, the one that they called openline means all networks or simcards can be use with it.

I dont have a solution to this problem but I have a similiar problem. I have an Alias version 2 and it gets stuck in USB download Mode, bootblock version u750:CD13.1. All I want to do is retrieve my address book which for some unknown reason is also not backed up online. Any thoughts?
