Jenn-air side-by-side water dispenser leak

I have a Jenn-air side-by-side and water (alot) leaked out of the water dispenser all over the floor and it looks like water sprayed into the freezer compartment and froze on everything. The ice dispenser is working fine. However, the water dispenser is not working. After I cleaned up all of the water it appears that the leaking has stopped. It seems that something must be frozen. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks - Marc

Check the fill tube to your icemaker and see if it has ice in it or in the fill cup to the icemaker. Most of the time when this problem happens it is the icemaker spraying the water. It could also be a bad module on the icemaker which can get stuck in the fill position and spray water all over the freezer.

I have a jenn air side by side and water seems to be leaking near the front left corner area at random times and when it does leak it is a slow drip.... thoughts?

Look in the freezer floor to see if you have ice built up and over flowing into the floor. If so you have a clogged drain line which is located in the freezer behind the lower basket in the litttle gap at the bottom of the back wall. If you don't have that, the water line that runs to the water in the door is located at the front left side as well and you can get to that by pulling off the bottom piece of plastic that runs along the bottom of the whole machine.

Ice builds up on floor of freezer apparently some leaking as my lamented floor is showing some damage. i have cut off water supply to icemaker and water tap thinking this was problem.

most likely you have a plugged and frozen defrost drain. check behind the bottom basket of your freezer section to confirm this you will find alot of ice build up. to repair you self:
  • unplug refrig.
  • unload freezer section
  • remove rear access cover (on jenn-air's there are 2 screws about mid way up they are painted white and arent very obvious).
  • clear all ice
  • flush drain hole with warm water. ( i use a turkey baster filled with hot water to get best results)
  • reassemble unit
  • reapply power
this should stop your water leak. thanks Peyton

Water leaking on the floor

Clean the drain pan and drain line in the back of the freezer section underneath the evaporator coil. Make sure water drains when you pour it in.
Good luck! :)

My Jenn-air refridgerator freezer section leaks water and builds up on bottom of freezer, defrosts then leaks out

sounds like you have a clogged defrost drain. when the unit self defrosts, the meltwater from the evaporator is supposed to go down a drain under evaporator, to a condensate pan underneath. when this drain gets clogged at any point, the water then drips into the freezer floor, freezes, eventually over fills the floor, and leaks onto kitchen floor. Do not try to snake out the drain, as it is plastic and usually not permanently attached, snaking can damage or dislodge the tubing, making problems worse. If you have a compressor, you can direct some compressed air into the drain to clear out any obstructions. Again, use caution against too much pressure, to avoid dislodging tube. Any reliable refrigerator repair service shouldnt charge much more than $100 to resolve this issue.

Water leaking from jenn air refrigerator side by side

check the freezer side and see if there is ice under bottom rack and floor if so you have a clogged drain, follow the floor to the back wall and the bottom of back wall panel, there is a drain there, use hair dryer to melt out and then you need a steamer or something to blow out the drain line, check it by pooring hot water in the drain you'll know if you unclogged it if the water drains through

The water dispenser unit has a tube coming into the back of the fridge. Anytime you dispense water, it will also leak from this tube in the back. Also, about once a day or so, it will sound like water is...

The water inlet valve on the back of the unit where the water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block the fill tube. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to see if it has a slow drip. It doesn’t take much to eventually block the fill tube. You can thaw the fill tube and replace the water inlet valve.

to allow your fridge/freezer to be ice free a timed defrost phase apxx every 7 to 10 hrs occurres whe the ice is drefrosted the water shoud go via a collection tray to the top af the compressor to keep it cool the tray is situated at the bottom of the freezer side behind the panel youll find is probally blocked and the water is overflowing to the front instead of going the correct way if you tecn minded unplugh the appliance remuve the pabel and unblock the drain tray the panel is inside the freezer torward the bottom
