Success and relief at last!

Thanks to Dinky on another web site who had the same problem with his Lexmark X6575 printer (a similar printer). The resolution of the problem once I had read Dinky's explanation took less than 30 seconds!

Dinky's exact words on the issue are as follows:

" Dinky commented 5 months ago
Hooray!!!...after lots of hours trying to fix my printers 'Paper Jam' message, even tho' there was no paper jam in my lexmark x6575, but the message refused to go away...I have finally got it to work!!!...

WHAT I DID......
There is a long silver metal bar that the ink cartridges run along. Well just underneath this there is 8 little roller feet that sit on top of another silver/cream roller. Well in between these, in the very centre, you will see a little black plastic nib like thingy...While the machine is turned on, press this little black thingy (best to use a pen or something like, as it's small) and what should happen is the silver/cream roller will make a quick rolling motion....Hey! presto the 'jam message' disappears and the lcdlexmark x6575 printer error message clear paper ja - mag-glass_10x10.gif screen should show set-up options (like date, time, ect).

I hope these instructions are clear enough to follow, and I also hope this solves that dreaded 'Paper Jam' message for you all....Good Luck!
Regards, Dinky "

The solution may work for the problem described but that is NOT my problem. A hinge that is used in open and closing the top is broken so the message is "close top" I need to find how to fix or replace the hinge.

I had the same problem and after trying to sort it for few days and I almost bought a new printer today.

Your advice worked and the printer is working well again

SOURCE: Lexmark x3350 printer has error message : clear

Fix: Inside the printer, amidst the rollers approximately in the center (easily accessible), was a small lever/pin... just move it over (I touched it lightly and it moved itself) Error message went away. Printer works

SOURCE: Lexmark X7675 error: Paper Jam (on printer control

Remove the cartridges. see any bits of paper left behind. Replace the cartridges. You will be asked to align again. Do this.

Hopefully, this will work
Good luck

SOURCE: Lexmark T650 paper jam message

When you remove the back cover you'll find the fuserunit. Ther are 2 "sensorflags" at the exit of the fuser. 1 of them is stuck. Try to make it move again and the machine will work.

As soon as I started using recycled ink cartridges, I started getting a paper jam error on my printer. The control panel message instructs me to remove the back panel and clear paper jam. I've done this several times but there is no paper to clear and the message keeps coming back. I've tried turning of the printer and unplugging it to clear the memory, but that doesn't help. Could it be that the chip on the ink cartridge is messing with the printer's operating system?

I have Lexmark x85printer. Bought new Ink Cartages. Printer Will not Feed Paper All I get is paper jam Clear paper

Either the ink cartridges are incorrectly inserted, and block the paper path jamming the paper, or the paper drive roller got slightly out of kilter when replacing the ink. Sometimes, powering down the printer, manually moving (gently) the printer head halfway from home position, closing the printer and powering it on will clear a roller problem (never tried on a Lexmark, though. It works on Epsons and HPs). If the head doesn't move, though, don't force it. Try instead taking out the ink cartridges and putting them in again, without forcing, and gently wiggling them until they click in place.

If you get the message without any paper in the printer, check the insides for any scrap of paper which could have lodged in the sensors.

Also, verify there is no paper elsewhere in the paper run (paper out tray, etc.). Sometimes the "paper jam" message is a sort of "catch-all" error.

Lexmark 6500 states I have a paper jam, but I don't.

Hooray for McGuyver techniques, but I just shoved a piece of paper in there so it actually had a jam, pulled it out, and it cleared fine!

202 pam jam

usually it means that a sensor in your fuser is bad. If you have a P.M. Kit replaced the fuser and clean the printer.

but before you do, make sure that you have cleared all jams, including in the fuser.

Its probably time for a Preventive Maintanence
