Mitsubishi WT-46807 won't stay powered up.

TV went off yesterday while I was watching it. When I tried to turn it back on, the green light came on for a few seconds and then the TV turned itself off before a picture came up. I've read some answers for it but they involve the fuses. We can't find any fuses. We have a service manual, but it doesn't show where they are either. HELP!!!! We don't want to buy a new TV if we don't have to.

Did you do the self diagnostic check this set has? on the front of the set (after it shuts off) press and hold both the Menu and Input buttons for 5 seconds and then release both---the power light should blink a two digit error code: for example: 2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks. It should repeat the code about 10 times---let me know what the code is

My Mitsubishi WT 46807 will not power up. The green light on the front stays on for approximately 2 seconds and then goes out with no audio or visual. I tried unplugging the set for about 15 minutes but...

yes!

When you turn set on and power light goes out do the self check this set has.

On front of set when light goes out press and hold both the Menu and Input (device) buttons at the same time and hold both for at least five seconds and then release both.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks,2 blinks, a pause and repeat it several times.

Let me know what error code you find and I will tell you what it means. Make a comment here and I will assist you.

hi,
Error code 2-2 indicates "Short Protect Circuit" problem in tv.
Need to check pico fuses in power supply as one or two got blown due to bad convergence chips.
Below is an exploded view of tv chassis, power supply and convergence area has been marked to give you better idea to look for pico fuses.
Unplug tv from wall socket before to repair/check any thing inside tv.
Hope these info will help you.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

I have a 64' samsung tv , It did the same thing and it was the lamp inside it. I bought it online at parts store.com, it works fine now. We fixed it ourselves and didnt know the first thing about tvs. Good luck

Last night the set just turned off by itself. When I try to power on, the power light comes on for a second and then it shuts itself off again.

I am having this exact problem. The TV turned off by itself and now when I try to turn it on, the power light stays on for a sec and goes of with a click sound.

Any TV experts who can HELP?

I say that because that has been the problem with mine,
except it was the red.  it happened in 2000 when I bought the tv
and just now.  its going to cost me about 400.00 to have someone fix it.  I'm getting it fixed because it's been good to me. I watch dvd's vhs's and laser disks and feel it has plenty of life in it.

good luck
