SOURCE: doesnt clean dishes, seems to be no water coming into machine

There should be about 2 inches of water in the bottom of the DW.  If it is filling but not washing the pump may be bad.  That might explain the loud noise (motor bearing).  I assume that the detergent cover is opening but no water is being sprayed to dissolve it.

SOURCE: water is hooked up. When you start it the water

Verify that the water is turned on. Some water lines have flood sensor in them, and they have to be removed after being activated. If your line has the flood sensor, there should be a tag indicating such, if so, turn off the water supply, unscrew the water hose and then reinstall it to reset the flood sensor.

Otherwise, the water solenoid valve may have failed. Use a voltmeter and check the solenoid for power during the fill cycle, if you have power, then the water solenoid valve is bad.

SOURCE: had a clogged garbage disposal, once fixed, the

if you didn't do the disposal fix yourself then there's a possibility that whoever did it closed the water valve to the dishwasher although there is no good reason to do that...

I would check the valve then make sure that a severe kink wasn't put in the water supply line while working on the disposal...

one other cause could be a relay switch stuck in the closed position which will not allow water to the unit and would of course be a total coincidence and unrelated to your disposal repair.

SOURCE: Dishwasher runs, but the water

No there is not a reset button on diswashers. I would suggest you take the heating element out and check it with an ohmmeter to see if that is the problem - which is the most probable cause. If it is open - infinity reading on the ohmmeter, then it is bad.

If it is good then, it would be the control board.

SOURCE: Only a small amount of

There are 2 possible things causing that

1) the water inlet valve is bad and not fully opening to let in enough water

2)water pressure to that inlet valve is restricted, that could be from if it uses a stainless steel flex hose, something under the sink has pinched it perhaps .

To check turn off water remove line where it connects to dishwasher place end in bucket and turn water supply back on...if pressure good the valve needs being replaced

Reply back with actual model number as found off of label on door rim and i'll give ya part number

Why will my dishwasher not fill?

Open the dishwasher door, all the way. Look to the front right, this is the location on many models. You will see a round looking thing. Try to push it down and up. Do not do this very hard. This is the float that tells the dishwasher not to add any more water or to add water.Try running the dishwasher after this and try a few times.

If that doesn’t seem to work then it most likely is going to be the water inlet valve is faulty.
I hope this information has been helpful

Water comes out but spray arms don't turn and motor doesn't seem to be runing

Sounds like a bad pump/motor. It is also possible that something hard (like broken glass) got down into the pump impeller, stopping it from turning. Depending on the brand and model, this may be easy or hard to check and clean out.

Water doesn't seems to get into the dishwasher

HI,
Is it no water or little water? You could have a clogged inlet valve and this could be the cause. Check your water source coming into the unit, clean the screen and try again. Look for kinked water supply line as this can cause the same problem.
If this is not the case, get back to me with what you find out.
Thanks

My knemoor dishwasher doesn't seem to be getting water. When I dump water in to the machine it runs but otherwise it seems to be water starved??help!

It sounds like the pump, the function of which is to pump water into the machine. Since it works when you add water manually, it doesn;t sound like a switch or anything.

A pump is easy to replace. It's usually attached with just a few screws/bolts and the hoses.

No water coming in after sink blockage

Sounds simple , but the plumber may have shut the dishwasher water off. Valve is probably under the sink or near the machine in the basement or crawl space. Good luck.

Sounds like dishwasher is running but no water coming out (there are no broken pipes or leaks)

I had the same problem. The motor is working (humming) and my dishwasher goes through the whole cycle without water. I googled it and found it on a website. Sorry I don't remember which website. Basically, it said to put some hot water in the bottom of your dishwasher and add some citric acid. I added 2 small packets (2 oz each) and filled the bottom of the dishwasher with hot water until it covered the motor or the drain of the dishwasher and left it overnight. The next day my dishwasher started and ran perfectly fine. That was over 4 months ago and I have not had any problems.
