I have a Denon DRA-350 tuner amp. It powers up but has no sound. Any ideas?

Hi Ray Lynam, for what you say, you could have a problem with the speaker output
I suggest you remove the cover and look for two F2 and F3 fuses of 4Amp each that correspond to the output of the speakers, check if they are burned, if so replace them, ONLY FOR FUSES OF EQUAL VALUE 4AMP, do not put more value because you could produce major damage, test the equipment and if they burn again, then if you have problems at the exit stage
In this case, look for a specialized technical service
I hope you can solve the problem

Saludos Franco Dosil

SOURCE: denon receiver (DRA 397) will not speak to iPod dock

IF YOUR NOT USING A DENON IPOD DOCKING STATION IT WILL NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY.
YOU CAN CONNCET OTHER TYPES OF IPOD DOCKING STATIONS BUT YOU WILL NOT HAVE CONTROL THROUGH THE DENON AND ONLY CONNECT THE AUDIO FOR THAT DOCKING STATION TO THE DENON AS ANOTHER SOURCE INPUT

SOURCE: No Power

There is a thermal fuse built into the main transformer. It is possible that the fuse is open.

check your speaker A - B channel push-button switchces. They tend to get worn and contacts internally corroded after all these years <!-- from fixya rte -->

My Denon DRA-395 Receiver, suddenly stopped working after I had a huge power (sound) surge for a moment. I immediately turned the sound down, but it seems like I may have shorted something out.

I expect your tuner/amp has a fair number of ultra sensitive CMOS devices inside and a power surge is likely to be instant ***** for them - if the surge reached them.

Any piece of equipment that has a computer inside really should be protected by an anti-surge device.

Your Denon tuner/amp is a bit of really premium equipment and I advise you it is best to entrust it's resurrection to a Denon approved repairer.

Denon dra 345

There is a site listed below which has links to the service manual.I would look at the capacitors to see if any are blown and need to be replaced. If you have some that are indeed blown, then it can't get the energy it needs on demand and will heat up. Caps are easy to replace and you can tell they are bad if they are swollen, bulging on the top, or leaking. Cheap and easy fix and I presume you meant Denon in the text, lol.

My denon DRA-295 does not remember stations I set to memory when completely turned off. If on standby all goes well. A month after the problem mentioned above the tuner started to modulate reception and...

My better guess is a CMOS chip is either bad or there is a cold solder connection in the vicinity. If the power supply is bad, the receiver would not power up.
