Opens while playing. Returns to xbox home.Repeat.

The machine opens while playing. The screen turns black and I am back at "xbox home." It only does this occasionally, though. Mostly at first, but the longer I play the less it does it. Continues to open whenever I try to shut it. Very stubborn.

First and most obvious is the leaf switch in the drive may
be bent and touching some times causing the tray to
open.

second the C.P.U. has an intermittent contact and is
sending and eject cue to the rom drive ,not as likely
but possible

when you have a game in tap the top and side of the box
and see if you can cause it to happen. if so that would
point to first problem.

keep me posted im curious

How do I retreive messages from the answering machine remotely?

this is pertinent to uniden dect 1653 series and may work on yours as most uniden systems use the same format
1--call your phone number and wait until the system answers( if it is turned off , it answers after 15 rings and sounds a series of beeps
2--- during the greeting or beeps , press the # and immediately enter your security code . If you enter it incorrectly 3 times , the system hangs up and returns to standby
3--- the system announces the time and the number of messages in the memory and a help prompt. It beeps to let you know it's waiting for a command
4--when you hear the beeping , enter , enter a 2 digit code command from from the chart for example to play a message press# then 2
if you don't press any keys for 15 seconds the system hangs up and returns to standby
the chart codes are
#1---repeat message
#2-- play message
#3--skip message
#4 --delete message
#5--stop play back
#6 turn system on
#9---turn system off
#0 hear help prompts
to get your security code -- programming a security code
the default security code is 80
1-- with the phone in standby, open the menu from any handset
2-- select ans setup, the select security code
3-- use the number keypad to enter a 2 digit security code ( any numbers in the 00-99 bracket) Press menu/ select when you are finished
remember to note your security code
if this doesn't work on your set up go google and type in user manual for (make and model ) cordless phones-- and print out any pdf version down loads

This is about my xbox 360 when i turn it on with the hard drive in it goes to a black screen and says system error in several different languages and a red light come on on the counsel and when i take out...

E68 error? If so, turn off system, take off hard drive, put hard drive back on (good and tight) and turn system back on. Repeat a few times, sometimes it takes me 3 or 4 tries.

My Xbox has a blue screen when on

The lights indicate the system has crashed. Most cases you have to send your 360 back to Microsoft to repair it. This happend to a few friends of mine when the systems first came out.

not much help sorry.

Black Lines show up on my screen from Xbox 360 not T.V.

Follow the steps below, Hope this helps

1. Try another Av cable ( Audio video Cable )

2. This issue is caused by the video card inside the xbox 360. If you still have warranty better send it in for repairs ( Call xbox customer support )

Good Luck

Xbox does not read discs.

Getting to the dashboard screen is a good thing but still cannot rule out a bad circuit board or power supply. All the symptoms point to a bad DVD drive but the opening/closing by itself do indicate a problem with the microprocessor. Can you turn the power on and off with the small button?? If not, would definitely suspect bad board.
