Try connecting it to a computer. It should appear in Windows Explorer and you should be able to transfer some large files like images out of the tablet.

It might be the cable you are using. I had this similar issue and I had to try 3 different cables before one worked. Try more name brand cables than off brand cheaper ones. Good luck, and let me know if that helped!

go into Wi fi turn on Wi fi and if it asks for password enter it . hope it helps .

Screen going black usually means it is connected to another screen. Is there a setting on the tablet to enable output settings and a setting on the TV to enable input settings.
