You could get a stereo installation kit for your year, make & model, that comes with a pigtail plug that would plug right into the existing harness plug and prevent you from having to hack up your original wiring harness.

If not....

Car Radio memory Constant 12v+ Wire: Orange
Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: The radio harness does not provide a switched power source. Run a wire to the fusebox for switched power.
Car Radio Ground Wire: Black/White
Car Radio Illumination Wire: Gray
Car Stereo Dimmer Wire: Brown
Car Stereo Antenna Trigger Wire: Pink
Car Stereo Amp Trigger Wire: N/A
Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Tan
Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Gray
Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Light Green
Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Dark Green
Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Brown
Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Yellow
Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Dark Blue
Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Light Blue

Good luck

Brown/Red Left Rear Speaker (+)

If you don't have a plug on your factory wiring harness, you can hardwire it by connecting each wire to its corresponding wire on your new stereo. You can use crimp caps or soldering to make the connections

. If you're not comfortable with hardwiring, you may want to consider purchasing an aftermarket wiring harness that clips onto the factory harness you removed off the rear of your factory radio during its removal. This will make it easier to connect your new stereo to your car's electrical system .Hyundai Radio Wiring Color Codes - Radio Codes Calculator

I connected the bmw harness to a new new eonon radio,.There is power but no volume. whats the problem?.

In that vehicle there is a factory amp. It will power up with the White wire in the factory harness. Hook the amp out wire from the aftermarket unit to this white wire. It also controls your antenna.

I would like 2 connect mazda wire harness to nextar ncd50.HOW CAN I CONNECT that can u plz explain me

It depends on if you have an after market wiring harness that adapts the factory harness to the new cd player, or trying to hard wire into the factory wires in the car. First off, if you don't have a aftermarket harness, i would strongly suggest picking one up from Wal-Mart or automotive store, they are around $20 and save a lot of time. If hooking up this way, you just have to match the color wires to the same color of wires on the cd player. Red to Red, which is power, Yellow to Yellow which is Constant power, Black to Black which is Ground, Blue is only used when you have a power antenna that goes up when the car is turned on or if you have a amplifier, you can hook up the remote power to it, otherwise, leave it off. Then you will have your speaker wires which the fronts are White and White/Black, and Grey and Grey/Black. The rears are Green and Green/Black and Purple and Purple/Black. The ones with the Black striped go with the other matching colors with the black stripe. Then you would just plug in the factory harness to the aftermarket, and aftermarket to the cd player. If you are trying to hard wire into the factory wires, you will have to cut of the harness, find a Haynes or Chilton book at an automotive store and find what wires are what and use the color codes from above to hook back up, factory wires are always different colors. Once again, I strongly advise not to do it this way though. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I am trying to connect a kenwood KDC-MP3035 to a 1997 Honda Passport but none of the wires match up, what do i do to make it work?

Hello oz101ez,

The wires have to be matched by function, not by color. Here is a link to the color code for the stock radio harness in your Passport. Connect whatever color wire your Kenwood manual says is for 12V + (usually yellow for most aftermarket receivers) to the "red/white" in your Passport. Connect the Kenwood accessory wire (usually red) to the brown/white wire in your passport. Just continue matching up each wire function and colors on both ends.

Best would be an aftermarket wiring harness vehicle specific for the Honda Passport/Isuzu Rodeo. The Metra 70-7712 seems to be the correct one for your vehicle. Installer.com probably has the largest selection of wiring harnesses available anywhere. They'll even match the vehicle harness to an aftermarket receiver harness and connect them using solder and heat-shrink insulation if you desire.

Most local car audio shops will carry some wiring harnesses. Also retailers like Best Buy may have them, albeit at much inflated prices. Online car audio retailers like www.crutchfield.com and www.soncielectronix.com have a good selection and their prices will probably be somewhere in between, lower than local but higher than Installer.com

Hope this helps.

Installing newer radio in older truck

Hello zachary_reed,

What you need is an aftermarket wiring harness. These are made by Metra, Scosche, and others and are made to plug directly into the OEM radio harness. It appears that the one you want is the Scosche FB02B available from SonicElectronix. You simply connect the wires from your new receiver to the harness wires and then plug it into the factory radio plug. Another online retailer that sells aftermarket harnesses is www.crutchfield.com. Your local car audio shop or perhaps Best Buy may also have the wiring harness.

Be sure to match up the wires from your new radio harness to the aftermarket harness by FUNCTION, not by color. For example, most newer receivers will use Yellow as the 12V constant (hot) wire. The wiring color code for your F150 is shown here. Make sure that the pin on the aftermarket harness is connecting the yellow from your new receiver to the green/yellow of the OEM plug and so on.

Hope this helps.
