Check if both legs of your 220 volt outlet are hot. Check the power cord at the dryer-carefully.

Testimonial: "Thank you, I checked both fuses at the panel and they are ok, what I did find is one leg on the plug appears to be burned. No idea why. I will check continuity on power cord for all 4 positions, maybe I need a new cord.I have a pic of it,but, don't know how to post."

Remove 1 wire from the element . Your 220 V comes from ...110 motor , 110 control board . Check which wire is not getting 110 V , trace it and see which it comes from . That will tell you which one is defective .

SOURCE: Kemore dryer model110.67522600,

Both the high limit thermostat #3977767 and the operating thermostat #3387134 are normally closed switches and should have continuity. These thermostats are usually replaced as a set because when one fails its often caused damage to the other. The part # for the kit is 279816 and comes with both and is cheaper than if bought separate

SOURCE: I have a Whirlpool Dryer

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

My LG TROMM DLG9588WM dryer is running but it doesn't get hot what can i do?

If the dryer doesn't heat, the igniter might be burned out. Check the igniter for continuity with an ohm meter. Dryer igniters burn out over time.
Gas dryers have a flame sensor to detect the heat given off by the flame. If the dryer doesn't heat, the flame sensor might be defective. Check the flame sensor for continuity. This is not as common as a burned out igniter or thermal fuse.
If the above check out OK, check the high level thermostat, although not common, if the dryer doesn't heat, the high limit thermostat can be defective. It can be checked for continuity. If the thermostat is "open circuit" the dryer doesn't heat.

Lg dryer keeps blowing thermal fuses we have checked the thermostat and the element all have continuity

The thermostats (outlet and on element case) can still allow the heat to go to high, restricted airflow will also cause them to go.

LG model DLE5955S not drying

The common cause of dryers not heating is something causing the air not to be heated and circulating. To circulate, the air must have a good, clear path to enter and exit the dryer. Check the exhaust vent for lint clogging the passage. If clear, the next thing to check is the heating element thermal fuse and thermostats. The fuse can blow if overloaded from clogged exhaust vent or overheating in some way. If blown, it must be replaced. And the high temp thermostat can go bad also. They can both be checked by unplugging the power cord, disconnecting the thermostat and thermal fuse, one at a time and checking continuity with a multimeter. if broken, replace as needed. While you're at it, disconnect heating element and also check continuity. Replace any part that shows an open circuit after checking. You could temporarily bypass the thermal fuse or thermostat and see if the dry heats. It would be dangerous to leave in this state, so only do this temporarily. That could confirm the faulty part.

Just replaced the heating element to my Kenmore dryer...still no heat. Does this sound like the thermostat sensor on the side of the element housing is defective?

Absolutely; Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer, on the blower or along side of the heater box. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

  • Note: It is recommended by most dryer manufacturers to replace a hi-limit thermostat when replacing a thermal fuse.

I switched my Kithen Aid Electric dryer [KEYE664W] from mediun to high heat AND THE HEAT STOPPED! Now all temps have know heat. Blower works.

You may have had a short circuit between the heat selector switch and the element/thermostat!! Have a technician test the heat switch, and the element and thermostat.

Workes fine no heat

the temperature thermostats and or heater are bad, on electricdryers, you can ohm out to see what is defective.

There's no heat dot_lineone.gif 1. Gas valve coils
Igniter glows, then shuts off without igniting gas - the problem is probably with defective coils (black, located on top of the gas valve). It is recommended to replace all coils (usually two or three) if found defective.

Note: Sometimes the whole gas valve may be defective, thus not letting the gas out. However, this problem is not common.

2. Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

Note: It is recommended by most dryer manufacturers to replace a hi-limit thermostat when replacing a thermal fuse.

3. Igniter
Igniter may burn out or break. Replace the igniter if found defective.

Note: Igniters are very fragile and break easily. It is recommended to handle the igniter only touching the ceramic part of it (usually white in color).

4. Flame sensor (or radiant heat sensor)
Replace the sensor (located near the igniter) if found defective.

No heat in dryer model # 96591420

Check the following to address this issue.

1. No power to the dryer
Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses. An electric dryer uses two circuit breakers or fuses, and if only one of two is tripped or blown, the dryer might still run but not heat. Sometimes the power cord disconnects or burns at the dryer, if this is the case, the wiring and the terminal block must be repaired or replaced.

2. Heating element
A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

Not heating

Hi, Check the thermostats and the fuse. Make sure the 4" vent to the outsideis cleaned. If it is plugged, it will cause elements and thermostats to go bad.
The thermostats and the fuse must have continuity. If they are open, replace them. All these parts are located in back on blower housing and element housing.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks
