Your options are few.

I would first talk, beg and plea with management of the place you are moving into, see if there is some type of deal you can make with them. Having references to that you always pay rent and bills on time would greatly help, along with proof that you have steady income. The odds that this will work are very small, they hear stories all the time and are used to being taken advantage of. A deferment of the security deposit would give you that much less money to come up with.

If you have proper credit, you can take out a short loan. Be prepared to be asked for some type of collateral for the loan.

If your ssdi money was still in the form of a check, call the offices and explain what happened so they can put a stop on the check. If it was in cash format already, nothing you can do about it.

A lot of places might tell you that they can not help because you are not homeless YET. But if you can provide documentation that you are moving out, they will most of the time heed to your wishes. This can include any court papers for eviction, or whatever you have to prove you are going to be without housing.

A good place to plea your case is local churches, especially if you attend them. They often have funds set aside to help people in need.

If you have kids in school living with you, you can also call the school for help.

I also suggest calling The United Way, they offer help for this type of thing along with others.

Call your local Human Resource Services for the county/state you reside in. They also help for problems like these. They often have different names, but a quick call to the city should be able to give you a phone number.

Your police report is not going to hold any weight with your situation. There is no proof that it ever happened or that any money was taken, I am not calling you a liar, just letting you know how it will be viewed by the places you need the help from. It does add an emotional value to your problem, so it doesn't hurt to add it in. Just be prepared for them not to care about it.

You might want to look into selling some belongings that are replaceable. If you do wind up homeless, you will have to get rid of them regardless unless you can afford storage fees or know someone you can trust with them.

Most of all, do not get angry at anyone not able/willing to help...it will only close doors for you.

Hope that at least a tidbit of this info helps.

Yes, but most likely the unit will need to be dissassembled. I would not use the unit with the coin inside as it can short out power leads that power the SD card. It may damage your Nuvi. I have fixed this problem before.

Need to report a lost/stolen sassa card

Hello, Adelle -

Fixya.com is a website intended for asking and answering questions on how to go about REPAIRING THINGS. Fixya.com is not affiliated with the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA.)

This is the link to the SASSA home page:
http://www.sassa.gov.za/
On the home page, you will see a Contact Us tab. Through the drop down menu from the Contact Us tab, you will be able to choose the link for Head Office and Regional Contacts.

On the page for Head Office and Regional Contacts you should be able to find the SASSA nearest where you reside. Make a telephone call and talk with a SASSA employee regarding your lost card.

Best wishes.

How to get a passport

If you are an australian citizen

Go to your local post office to make your new passport you will need 2 Australian current passport holders to sign documents that they have known you for a certain amount of years 10 i think also about 100 points of ID Birth Cert ,Drivers Licence, medicare card ID,current passport, bills ie:electricity gas rates.......2 passport size photographs For current or recently expired passports only

When you need to renew a passport, we will provide a one page form already filled out with your personal details if you are eligible. This pre-completed form streamlines the renewal process.

You will not need to supply any supporting documentation. However, you will need to provide two recent colour photographs of yourself and present your previous passport.

When you lodge your renewal form your old passport will be physically cancelled. Some exceptions apply for renewal overseas.

Not everyone can use the renewal form. In particular, you cannot use it if your passport was lost or stolen (you will need a passport application form instead). So before trying to renew, use the following checklists to make sure you are eligible.
You can apply for renewal if:
  • you hold an Australian adult passport issued with at least two years' validity and
  • the passport is current or expired less than two years ago and
  • the passport was issued with your current personal details (i.e. name, date of birth, place of birth and ***) and
  • you are an Australian citizen aged 18 years or older.
Note: You will need to retain your expired adult passport for two years after the expiry date if you intend to renew your passport.

You cannot apply for renewal if:
  • your passport was lost or stolen or cannot be presented for renewal or
  • your passport was issued with less than two years' validity or
  • you have changed your name or *** since your passport was issued or
  • your passport has expired for two years or more.

Obtaining a renewal form

Online - follow the prompts at this web site to obtain a pre-completed renewal form and print it from the screen. You can also ask online for a pre-completed form to be mailed to you. The form should be lodged in person at an Australia Post outlet.

If overseas, contact the nearest Australian diplomatic mission or consulate for details on how to lodge the form.
Alternatively:

In Australia - call the Australian Passport Information Service on 131 232 to arrange for a pre-completed renewal form to be mailed to you.

Overseas - contact the nearest Australian embassy, high commission or consulate. The passports staff will mail out a pre-completed renewal form or it can be collected from the diplomatic mission or consulate.
