I've got an Everex 3400+ and when I plug my cable in from my cable modem into the internal modem it's not showing that it's connected. Is there a driver I need to download. can you recommend a network driver that will work for me

I think you should use the LAN port not the internal modem. LAN port or ethernet uses 8 wire cable versus 4 wire cable on internal modem that usually uses only two of the line.

Just for an input.

First make sure your using the correct LAN cable between the two devices, if that is correct make sure that your Local area connection is Enabled by right clicking on the connection in the / control panel / Network connections / Local area connection. If it is enabled try to disable it then reenable.

Please dont connect a cable modem to an internal modem.

These are not the same types of device.

you need to connect from the cable modem to the ETHERNET port.

They look similar but ethernet is slightly larger.

Dont use a telephone cord for the ethernet connection it is the wrong one.

Red light on modem's internet

I think incorrect physical connection between your router device and the PC.Because cable modem status light should be solid green.it indicates that your ADSL/cable modem has a good connection.

Recheck and correct the Ethernet connection between your PC and the router device.

Connecting to my network

Its not a modem its a router. A Modem plugs in to a Telephone line. A Router plugs in to a Broad Band Line. A Modem connects to a RJ11 Cable. A Router Connects to a Coaxial Cabal, the router connects to a computer via wireless or ethernet after that. A Modem connects to a computer using RJ11 or RJ45 Cat4 Ethernet. Very different.

How to plug a WNR1000 Wireless Router into a Hughes net HN7000S modem

It should connect with an Ethernet cable. Looks like a phone cable but is twice as wide with 8 pins instead of 4. Plug one end into the modem's Ethernet output port and plug the other end into the router's single WAN/Internet input port.

Just got a qwest pk5000z when plugged in power light stays solid green, dsl light stays solid green, then I receive Internet connection.. After about 30 seconds it resets and starts the whole process over....

Are you using the RJ45 ended Ethernet cable?
I've been battling an issue where an Ethernet cable plugged in caused the PK5000Z to reboot approximately every 120-300 seconds (2-5 minutes).
Switching to just the wireless and not having any Ethernet cables plugged in resolved the issue.
Unfortunately this won't work for me since I only use the modem as my gateway to the internet and actually have an Astaro Secure Gateway Firewall that connect to the modem via Ethernet. I'll be contacting their technical support again tomorrow as I've had 3 modems RMA'd and not a single person there at Century Link could figure out what to try except to keep RMAing them.
So anyone else hitting this issue, try using just the wireless instead of the Ethernet Cable.

Why I could not connect to wireless?

If you have a wireless router and it is connected to the DSLor cable modem then - To connect to your wireless router, the router needsits wireless settings to be configured with the SSID, encryption key etc., alsothe wireless cards and wireless adapters in all the laptops/computers needs tobe configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router and access the Internet via the DSLor cable modem.

I have cable internet and I can't seem to get online. How do I get it working?

Make sure the modem shows you as online. (shouldn't be any flashing orange light)

If it doesn't then there is a problem with your modem and you will need to call tech support to get it fixed up.

Also try to use the cable that came with your modem.

If this solution has helped you, please take the time to rate me.
