Did you change your fuel? If you are trying to use the same fuel from last year without being stabilized then that would cause your problem. I know that you already had your carbs cleaned but it sounds like something els got plugged up in them. If you have fresh fuel then I would take the carbs back apart and check your jets in the carb to ensure that there is nothing obstructing any of the orifaces in the jets. I am a boat mechanic and I have had to take carbs apart 2-3 times sometimes if they were varnished really bad to make sure I got all of the gunk out.

05 Yamaha 25hp 2 stroke. Nu impeller&prop winterized. New g/oil mix. ran fine out of water Now forward bogs and won't get on a plane. Rev's in neutral and will get to full RPM in reverse as normal.

Hey Spencer,
Its time for a complete carb cleaning and setting by a qualified professional... When you say ran fine out of water.. you DID have the "ear muffs" connected to provide water to cool the engine..?? If you DID NOT.. you MAY have more serious issues. Take this to a qualified pro!!

I have a 1998 Yamaha GP 760 waverunner. 2 stroke engine. It's been sitting all winter. Not kicking over when I start. I read to use a premix instead of starter fluid, but what is the premix ratio?

Mary, you have to give a lot more information as to make , model , year, 2 or 4 stroke, capacity before anyone can answer this
modern 2 stroke engines use a metering pump for the correct oil/fuel ratio and it is not premix
and what is wrong that you need starter fluid in the first place
post again with all the information and some one will be able to help

My Yamaha 4 stroke 50hp engine was running fine. When i went to replace the cover, the water stopped running through the "pee" hole.

i have had this on mine and it was a sort of insect that made a mud nest in the small hole and it blocked the hole up ,try poking it out with a bit of wire

Yamaha TW 200 starts but won't run.

If the bike has sat for a long period of time without being run - the gas that is sitting in the carb(s) will shellac.. Then the carb(s) would need to be cleaned and "rebuilt"..

4 stroke Yamaha 50HP -Runs rough at all throttle levels

If it has the old points system you will need to set the points also adjust the carburatior screw the screws all the way in and back out 2 1/2 turns then get it to run turn the air mixture screws till it runs smooth. you want it slightly lean then enrichen it slightly, afterword shut the engine down and look at the plugs if they are gray black they are ok. good luck.

Mantis 2-stroke tiller won't start

This could be one of several problems...
• Last year's fuel. Get some fresh gas.
• Every 2-stroke needs a new spark plug each year... you know what that means.
• Clogged carb jets due to storing the tiller over the winter with fuel in the system. Never, ever do that. Now you'll need to pull the carb apart and clean it. Most of the orifices are so tiny you can't see them. Good luck.
• Engine is so old the crankshaft seals have hardened with age. This is one reason no 2-stroke lasts longer than about 8 years. If the seals are shot, then it will cost more to fix than a new one costs. Time to toss it.
