As batts get older they take longer to reach full charge.

There may be a problem with a cell or maybe or a bloc

Batts are made up of sets of cells which make up a bloc.

eg 6 cells = 12 V bloc

Most UPS units have more than 1 bloc inside.

Standard batts can last about 3- 5years, it all depends on use, temp, cost of ups, and type of batt.

Some ups units allow you to check the batts with sofware, 1 other thing you can do is... with the ups powered up and running,do a test by connecting a lamp to the ups and failing the supply, for a short time say 3mins this will test the batts can work on load.

Before you do this make sure your critical load is not powered up.

Hope this helps , let me know by voting, thanks for using FixYa.

My E-scape Speed Boy doesn't hold a charge, I am wondering how far does a full charge go for. Also how long does a full charge take to charge fully?

Take your batteries out, and take them down to .a battery shop. Have the battery load tested, Reading the voltage under no load conditions will not tell you much, normally the batteries voltage gives you its state of charge. These batteries will show a full charge at no load, as soon as you put any load at all on the voltage drops off and you don't have much in amperage output. The amperage is what is important when you right down to it. When load testing your battery they will use an instrument that they punch in the cranking amps. The instrument will look for the voltage drop off at a load of what ever amp value you punched into the instrument. The instrument will give you a pass\fail indication for the cranking amps value the technician punched into the keypad. There can be a problem when load testing batteries. The technician doesn't key in a amperage value, This is what happened to me. The instrument when no value is entered will use a default value, Say the default amperage is usually set at around 200 Cranking amps. My technician was either rushed or just being lazy. He set the load tester to use the default values, my battery passed with the tester set up the way it was. My battery is a 35 amp\hr battery and puts out 480 cranking amps In actuality my batteries weren't putting out nearly that much. It would put out 265 cranking amps for about 2 seconds then die. He told me the batteries were good. When i brought the batteries back to him
i didn't let him take them into thee back room. THIS TIME HE DID THE CHECKS OUT IN PLAIN SIGHT OF ME. I asked to do a comparison between my batteries and new ones. We had to retest a number of time in order to find the upper limit of the new batteries. As it turned out my batteries were bad and all my problems disappeared with my old batteries. NOTE, scooters use deep cycle batteries only Glass mate batteries if you want to take your scooter on a flight.

Now if you had your batteries load tested and you know their good, its got to be the charger thats malfunctioning. Check the charger connection points make sure there tight. One connector should go to the negative battery terminal, the other connector should go too the positive terminal and read +24v. Make sure the connections are solid.

How long does it take to charge a battery? There are allot of variables to this but generally speaking if a charger is a four amp charger and you got a 35amp/hr battery it will take roughly 8 hrs to charge. Batteries typically don't like to be cold. My batteries are 35amp/hr my scooter will go 25 miles @ a max speed of 6 mph. The run time is roughly 5.5 hrs with a draw of about 6amps

Are you sure the battery is good, just because you charged it doesn't mean it is any good and reached full voltage. I also suggest you disconnect the battery negative cable for 5 minutes to reset the system.

We have set up the solar power fountain with pump as per instructions. The pump is submerged, solar cell in full sun for 3 days, but the pump does nothing. doesn't even make a sound. Its an 8 watt...

Using a battery/volt meter, check if the battery has a full charge. Also check if there is an on/off switch on the back of the solar panel. If the batteries are removable and are standard batteries, charge them using an AC battery charger the first time. If not, you may have a defective solar panel and should return it to the store/manufacturer.

Question about john deere bulldozer that has a radio control 9.6v rechargeable Ni-cd battery pack 800mAh. how long does it need to totally charge?

Hi.
Since this is using Ni-Cad battery system, I would charge it between 12 - 16 hours to ensure a full charge has been accomplished.

The original owners manual may say quite alot less, but Ni-Cad batteries are notorious for taking a long time to fully charge.

Too bad it doesn't have a li-ion battery...those only take about 4-6 hours for a full charge, and thats only if they are totally dead!

I hope this helps you out.
Good luck to you, and have a good day!

My msi u100 starts up but then the battery light goes red and shuts down how can i fix it

HI Cws666, try to charge your computer for a full 3 - 5 hours without interruptingit, than try again.
If that doesn't work, try buying a new battery.
If that doesn't work send it to computer's brand labs.
