Your outdoor condenser is in heat mode. Check the wires on the thermostat. Sounds like a small wiring problem and nothing else. Good luck. Please keep me posted as to you progress.

SOURCE: I have a Bryant 661CJ030-E. While in cooling mode

Refrigerants are regulated by the EPA. In order to purchase it, you need an EPA License. If you are low on refrigerant, the leak needs to be found and repaired. This requires special tools.

Additionally, with the information given, it could be an electrical problem. Is the outside fan running, is the compressor running? Your best bet is to call a professional.

SOURCE: Have a Bryant 340MAV condensing

Just curious, have you changed your filter out recently? This blog talks about a problem similar to yours and the tech changed out the filter and tapped a screwdriver between the terminals of the limit switch:

If tapping on the limit switch doesn't help, it may have to be replaced.
Here is Bryant's support page:

Good luck, and hope this helps.

SOURCE: Bryant FA4ANF04200 Operation is intermittent. Some of the time it will go on when set to heat or cool. Other times, it will not turn on. Replaced thermostat. Problem continues. Sounds like defecti

Is this a heatpump system or a gas furnace /a/c system,you have a 3 1/2 ton a/c unit,if it is over 5 yrs old it could be a board problem,look for any spliced wiring where they used little wire nuts to join wires,these can make bad connections,?does the blower turn on,is the outside unit running but no airflow,if you have a gas furnace it may have a window,a little clear lens to look in at the furnace control board,it will blink a failure code if there is a problem,need more info :)

Can I replace my broken Carrier thermostat control #SYSTXCCUID01-A with a Bryant Evolution Thermostat Control Model # SYSTXBBUID01-A?

The answer is yes. Chances are that the tstat you have now just hasn’t been setup properly. Don’t want to get the new tstat and have the same issue but I suppose you could try!

Bryant HVAC, reads "system fault, 84 high pressure, lockout for 4)

It could be your filter is dirty or condenser is dirty.

I have a Bryant heating/cooling w/ heat pump - E3 error on thermostat and the house is 61 degrees and smells of burnt air

I asked Mr. Google " carrier e3 error code", and I found this.

The outdoor thermostat is in error, not connected, or shorted out. This code is displayed only if auxiliary heat and/or cool lockout feature is enabled.

What this means is that your o.d. unit has a component failure. The smeel you have inside is probably you electric heat elements that are energized. And if they haven't been energized in a while, its burning off some debris.

I have error codes flashing on my thermostat..it is an american standard model the manual for the therm. has ACOT900AC43UA on front..says to find addedum 18-HD32D2-1/69-2009 for codes i cannot find it...

Error codes from American Standard Pub 18-HD32D2-8, which is a one-sheet document that came with my American Standard air-conditioner:

29 = not listed

129 = not listed

80 = HPCO Fault - problem is in outdoor unit - Desscription: High Pressure Monitor Fault (hard lock out, cycle power to reset)

91 = Communication Inactive Fault - problem is in air handler - Descriptions - COMM Bit Master Clock Error, COMM Heat/Cool Demand Error, Serial Motor Communication Inactive Error

91 = Communication Fault - problem is in furnace - Descriptions: Blower motor no COMM response, Inducer motor no COMM response, Loss of heat/cool demand, Loss of clock signal

91 = Communication Fault - problem is in outdoor unit - Descriptions: Loss of Heat/Cool Demand Message (COMM), Loss of Bit Master (Clock Signal)

91 = Communication Fault - Description: Comm line is dead and no bits have been received.

By the way, I do not recommend American Standard. I've had mine 14 months and it just blew up - the entire control panel blew. My advice to you - think about a different brand.
