While on the web I can't download anything to the memory card. It will not recognize the expansion card. It says to move or delete files from device to free up memory. I have tried many brands of cards and sizes which make no difference. Do I need a new card driver? I am very experienced with the Palm but can't solve this. I could download to the card before I updated to the Palm os ver 2.0 a couple of years ago but not since. Any help you could give would be appreciated. Thanks. Mark

repair which OS? The desktop or the Palm OS?

  • nels59 Sep 14, 2009

I am using a laptop running Vista not XP.

  • nels59 Sep 14, 2009

the previous "expert" doesn't have a clue what she is talking about. My Palm Lifedrive does recognize my memory expansion card while used within the confines of the device, but if I use my web browser, go to a web site perhaps to download an ebook, I can't download it to the device for the error message tells me there is not enough memory. I can't download it to the memory card for it does not even recognize there is a memory card available. I need to get the Palm Lifedrive to recognize the memory card while on the internet so I can download to it.

  • nels59 Sep 14, 2009

The problem is within the Palm Lifedrive itself. The steps you just gave to me is performed on my laptop. First, which browser temp files do you want me to delete? On the laptop? Which card driver? On the laptop? I do not have another or different card driver for the Palm to install. Please be clear on your instructions. Thank you.

I know you guys are trying but you don't have a clue what the problem or the answer is. I have done all of your suggestions plus many others. I am ahead of you on all of these. I don't think you will be able to help me. This is my last communication with you. Thanks....Mark

You check PalmOne for possible OS updates and patches. Some Palms do have issues with some cards.

Palm OS ver 2.0? So, you have a palm pilot pro or similar? Please clarify because these were one of the first palm which had no sd expansion.

Is this a Treo? Can you read the SD card on the computer, but not on the phone?

You may have to format on the phone. Give me a little for detail and I'll try to help you out.

Best Regards,
Bill

    Ok, Lifedrive...

Did you try formatting the card on the PDA itself?

On your mobile manager, launch the Card Info application.

From the Card: dropdown menu, select the name of your expansion card. Make sure it's the SD card and not the HDD.

        Tap Menu

From the Card menu, select Format Card.

You can run a repair of the OS.
That should fix the issue.

    hI,

If your card is sdhc it will not work the device is only natively capable of reading normal sd cards.

The only suggestion I can offer is to open the install tool, then on the device go into the hotsync application on the Centro. Both should be displaying a user name. If the user name on the device doesn't match the one in the install tool, click on the drop down (On the install tool) and change it to the correct user.

Yes you may have to contact the software venders and re-register the software.

    Thanks

    Smith.

Hitachi xl1000- windows won't recognize it and computer wants me to format the drive. i need help.

Try plugging the USB drive into another computer.
If it does not work then try this.
Recuva (pronounced "recover") is a freeware Windows utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer. This includes files emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players. It will even bring back files that have been deleted from your iPod, or by bugs, crashes and viruses!
  • Put the memory card into an USB card reader and plug it into the USB port in your computer, then run the Recuva program.
  • Simple to use interface - just click 'Scan' and choose the files you want to recover
  • Easy to use filter for results based on file name/type
  • Simple Windows like interface with List and Tree view
  • Can be run from a USB thumb drive
  • Restores all types of files, office documents, images, video, music, email, anything.
  • Supports FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, exFAT, NTFS, NTFS5 , NTFS + EFS file systems
  • Restores files from removable media (SmartMedia, Secure Digital, MemoryStick, Digital cameras, Floppy disks, Jazz Disks, Sony Memory Sticks, Compact Flash cards, Smart Media Cards, Secure Digital Cards, etc.)
  • Restores files from external ZIP drives, Firewire and USB Hard drives
  • It's fast, tiny and takes seconds to run!
Go to these WEB sites to down Recuva http://download.cnet.com/Recuva/3000-2242_4-10753287.html www.filehippo.com/download_recuva

I try to download stuff off the internet but it keeps saying connect storage media at the save destination what does this mean

File formats that the PS3 doesn't recognize as something that it can play can only be saved to a USB storage device, or a memory card. You can't download anything to the PS3 hard drive via the browser that you couldn't copy to it from a USB storage device. That is what the error message means. You have to connect an external storage device, because the PS3 won't store this file format on the internal drive. This protects the integrity of the system. If you connect a USB drive or memory card (you will need a USB adapter for the memory card if you don't have a launch PS3), then you can download anything that you want using the PS3 web browser.

Expansion card

The issue with the card is not song format as you said it's the card format. When you put you're it into the CPU I?m assuming that you clicked yes on the warning/and or problem window and it formatted it to the CPU. So what you need to do is find what format the hardrive /and or internal memory is and format the card to that.

Memory and blazer

There are three types of storage on your handheld: the hard disk, an expansion card (if you have one), and the actual main system memory. Are you sure you have freed up the main system memory? That is the only one that counts in this case. If it is filled with programs, move those programs to one of the other types of memory. This is easiest to do with a launcher like ZLauncher. Your memory may be fragmented. Have you tried a soft reset?
