Date/Time slowing down; PC also running slow, choppy

The date & time keep slowing down, seems to not keep time when PC is off. Now it went back to 2002! Is there an internal battery that needs replacing? I've had this Compaq Presario S5100NX for years, Thanks!

On most motherboards, there is a battery terminal. This batter should look similar to a watch battery, round and flat. Replace the battery, and set the time in the windows software and you should be on your way. This battery keeps time for the computer when it is off. The date reset when the battery failed.

PO456 is most times a gas cap or gasket,
to get an incorrect gear ratio the transmission has probably started to slip.

Change the fluid and filter first off in the transmission and use only atf+4 fluid and possibly the govenor pressure sensor, and change gas cap.

M955g v: 3.0a Bios changes time and date back

It looks like you have the latest BIOS, but I would flash it again, evidently something went wrong, if flashing with v3.0 doesn't work, go to the ver before and re-flash.

I hope this helps.

Laptop's clock runs slow.

A near flat battery will cause the laptop to lose the time and date even if you change the BISO time and date, it will still lose time.
To get into the BIOS setup press F2 as you boot up the laptop.
Check the various settings and you will get to the time and date setting, follow the screen instructions to set the time and date.
I suggest you get a new battery installed before you change the time and date.

Clock system getting to late

Yes, this battery maintains the laptop BIOS information including the date and time. If the time slows down it indicates the battery is nearly flat and needs replacing.
