DIP Switches don't seem to matter

I bought two remotes for two different Hunter fans. Installed both per manufacturer's instructions - (those could be improved in regards to dip switches & jumpers). Situation is that both fan controllers respond to the factory settings no matter how the dip switch settings are changed. One remote control with factory settings will activate both fans & lights no matter what the dip switches on the fan controller are set for. Change the remote's jumpers and it doesn't work even after matching the dip/jumper settings.
Haven't tried disconnecting the power to see if this fixes the problem. Know a little about electronics but this one has me baffled.

You need to completely power off (wall switch or breaker) when changing the dip switches. Not just power off from remote because it will keep previous setting. I learned it the hard way....

How do I figure out the dip switches on the new Hunter remote if the old one is gone and I cannot reach the ceiling fan to retrieve the receiver.

Can be almost impossible to determine code without sighting receiver. Do you have old transmitter as the correct dip switch settings would be on this. One "trick" you can do if there are more than one remote fans installed is to check other controllers for their codes. generally when installers set dip switches for multiple fans in homes they move the No1 switch from 0 to 1 or vice versa, then the switch position for second fan is move switch 2 as previous. You may be lucky and "jag" the position otherwise you will need to get to receiver.

Hunter fan remote #99600 no dip switches

I have a hunter fanaway ceiling fan with remote it came with. they work fine. i want to set an additional remote for use at different light switch location. there are NO DIP SWITCHES in it, and i can't figure out how to pair it. super frustrated. i've tried turning power off, then back on & trying to pair with no luck. the light on the remote does turn on when you push a button, so the battery is fine.

Hunter fan remote control 99600 not working

This must be a common problem, since I Googled the part number and it popped up before I completed the number. I am going to have to order a new remote, since I don't have a solder pen. Wish me luck.

Before I did anything else I would try changing the code on the problem fan. Change the dip switches in the fan and in the remote controller unit to a different code. It is not impossible that a neighbor has the same code in their unit or a device in the area is operating off the same code. Probably the cheapest thing to try next.

Hunter Remote Control # 27185

Do not use the factory default position in either fan. Double check the dip switches, and make sure they are the same for each individual receiver and remote.Different codes for each. Dip switches are the oppsite direction in the remote for some reason?
