Whay does my AIWA CA-DW63OU start playing by itself?

are you sure it's not going into demo mode after you turn it off? Is there just lights and display flashing? - that is demo mode. Probably a button on the remote to turn it off.

This was easy.. download the manual here:
http://www.nodevice.com/download/user_manual/aiwa+xr-em50.html
From the manual:

Clock Adjustment: (Page 7)

When the unit is turned off, you can also press SET.
2 Within 6 seconds, press "< <" (rewind icon) or > > (fast forward icon) to set thetime.
Each press changes the time in 1-minute steps.
Holding these buttons down will vary the time in 10-minute
units.
3 Press SET.
The time display stops flashing and the clock starts from
00 seconds.

When setting the clock on the unit in stop mode, hold down
"square" (stop icon) and press "> >" in step 1. After setting the time in step 2,
press TONE in step 3.

To display the time while the power is on
Hold down SHIFT and press CLOCK on the remote control.
The time will be displayed for 6 seconds.

To switch to the 24-hour standard

Cd wrongly inserted in an AIWA CA-DW935M is stuck in the cd player, wants to get it ejected

I was able to find the manual for that model, which included a series of tests for the CD trays. Perhaps if you ran through them you will be able to get your CD out. If not, please ask for additional help.

Setting the clock

Use an Aiwa Hifi Remote Control...Turn on the L300 (without any DVD on the player). Wait until in the TV appears "No Disc" Open the tray and put a DVD from other region (not zone 1), don't close the tray!!!. On the remote control of the Aiwa press the "Clock" button, in some remote control you must do a button combination like "Shift+9" (Is the combination to see the clock, do the combination fast), and in other model of Aiwa remote control doesn't appear the clock button, you must try with the "random" button. If you do it right, in the corner of TV where "No Disc" appears it will say "adjust complete".

Tape decks playig too fast

Hi I can probably tell you what is wrong, but there is usually not much you can do except take it to a shop and have the motor replaced. I most cases there is a hole in the back of the cassette capstan drive motor, or on a small circuit board close to the motor where the speed is adjusted at the factory. You could possibly adjust the speed by ear until it sounded right playing a factory recorded tape with a song you know well, but I recommend these adjustments be left to a tech with a frequency counter. Also, these adjustments normally never need to be touched unless replacing a motor, so it is likely something internal has gone wrong with the motor, and it should be replaced under most circumstances. Hope this helps, Good Luck.
