The clothes are so hot they almost burn your hands. On automatic dry cycle now the dryer runs for a short while and shuts off while clothes are still damp. All venting is clear. When opening the dryer door, there is a hot smell that is close to electrical smelling. Is it time for a new dryer? This one is close to 10 years old and has given no trouble until now.
Hi, It's an over heating motor that's cousing the thermal switch to trip, on the motor.
Motor retails for $150.
Labor for putting it in is $90.
It might just be worth replacing it.
Sorry for the bad news :(
Best of luck.
