SOURCE: how to set the time on a vigoro water timer

Most timers for irrigation are easy just take the control knob and put it on the timers face for example it will say set- time to set the time, next it will it will say date ,water times and days there will be a --- or a + sign this will make it go forward or backwards for example to set time push + button and it will start at 12:00am keep going until you reach desired time once you get time click knob to next assignment and it will set automatic repeat and go to each assignment than put knob on auto make sure you have back up batteries in case electric goes out it will keep timer set.

Setting Time and Day of the Week
After you insert the battery, Current Time and Day appear. The screen shows the time as "12:00 PM S" (Sunday). It shows the watering Program is Off.
The hour blinks. Use the Minus or Plus button to choose the current hour. Please be certain you enter the right time of day (AM/PM). When you reach the correct hour, press Enter.
Now the minutes blink. Use the Minus or Plus button to choose the current minute(s). When you reach the correct minute(s), press Enter.
Now the letter "S" blinks for Sunday. Use the Minus or Plus buttons to choose the current day of the week. When you reach the correct day, press Enter.

Or you can go to the link below and there is a manual for the timer that does look like yours just a diffrent name in it.

How do I program model # 57114 from station a to b to c

The model of Orbit sprinkler timer you show has 4 or 6 zones for watering. I provide link below for instructions for use. Reading it, I don't think this timer has A, B, C, schedules if that's what you mean (whole different settings on each). Other timers commonly do however that feature in my experience is rarely used. If you don't like this timer, Home Depot has a $20 timer 4 station that I've found is easier to understand than many of them, also a 6 station for a little more same type (think is Orbit not sure). May need to zoom instruction shown from the link.

Need to known how to set the timer do not have a manual we have the VIGORO deluxe water timer, they are about two years old.

I do not know how to set the timer, but can offer possible source for manual.

VIGORO timers can be same as Melnor:
Match up image with your timer and then download manual.
Water timers last 1 or 2 seasons. There is no repair for broken water timers.

I have 2 Vigoro 196-036 watering timers. Why does water come out of the three holes near the battery compartment on one of them?

It comes out of the holes because the water goes in the holes. That might sound dumb but Vigoro designed these only to be in dry conditions, such as attached to the water line. I used them for sprinklers, but the water poured into the timer so bad it shorted it out in a week. I did find a vigoro timer with no holes and a sealed unit, and they work great. But I can't find them anymore.

Regarding the Vigoro Electronic Water Timer, Model 196 036: How do I program the timer to water every day, in the early a.m., then in the evening? Is the greatest hourly spread per day 12 hrs.? In...

I think you almost have it right, you can program how many hours apart.
4=6 x per day
6=4 x per day
8=3 x per day
12= 2 x per day
24=1 x per day
Then you set how long you want it to be on, but that can't exceed your hour setting. I believe these are the same timers as Melnor. You can go to their web site for manuals. http://www.melnor.com/instructions.php. If you really want exact timing, I'd get a quality electric timer, and then buy a electric valve such as you'd use for a sprinkler system.

Do I turn the faucet on fully?

Yes, when using an inline water timer, it does not control the pressure of the water, only the "on/off" of the pressure. So make sure to keep the faucet at the pressure you want the drip system set at as if you weren't even using a timer.
